Can anyone of you gentleman confirm that:
20x9 27mm offset w/ a 275/40r20 (front)
20x11" 43mm offset w/ a 315/35r20 (rear)
will fit a 2011 2SS/RS w/ BMR 1.4" lowering springs?

So, I can get a 10.5" wheel for the rear instead of the 11" and save a total of 60 bucks (don't judge, it's a recession!)

If I am mounting 315 tires, there is no benefit to getting the 11" over the 10.5", is there?

I'm running 315's on 10.5 wheels on a lowered car and they fit just fine. No issues at all.

I was told I had different size wheels when I bought mine. They said I had 20x9.5 and 20x10 and I put 275's in the front and 315's in the rear and one day I was working on my foglights and notices they sold me 20x8.5 and 20x9.5 and my tires are on as we speak.

Thanks all or the help.
Those are at least half an inch too narrow on both ends. Sorry.

If they rub at all it doesn't matter how good the mount & balance was done. The stock wheel isn't wide enough to keep such a wide tire from flexing too far, which can lead to rubbing (as you discovered) and will lead to more heat built up in the sidewalls than if you use wheels of the proper width..

There is more to proper tire fitment than simply getting them physically mounted and they hold air. The old-school bulge-y sidewall look is only OK on old-school 60-series and taller tires that were designed for narrower wheels, not today's 50 profile and lower tires that were designed for wider rims.

There would be a slight improvement in cornering response - how quickly or "crisply" the car responds to your steering wheel inputs. How much this matters is each individual's own call.

I suggest not only never recommending whoever told you that . . . but also modifying your sig so people won't think that those are fully valid tire and wheel combinations for unrestricted use of their car (because unfortunately they aren't).
