Gameover, so that program bug only seems to be an issue if you make changes AFTER you place the order? I don't imagine we'll make any changes, unless my husband decides not to fool with the GFX. I'll still have our friend take a look at the work bench and make sure everything looks right.

FenwickHockey65, my husband is a GM guy through and through. 95% of the vehicles I've had in the last 7 years have been GM products. I did have 2 different Ford F-250's (King Ranch and a Lariat) though. Don't hate me too much.

That's not really what I wanted to hear regarding the GFX. Being in the business, finding one of my husband's body shop friends to do the work won't be a problem, it's just more hassle than I was thinking about dealing with.

Here's the picture I was looking at when refering to the color of the GFXs on the IOM. Is this the argent gray color that they come from the factory as? Or is argent gray a flat color and this picture has ones that have been painted?

That's correct! If you make any changes and this has happen many, many times to members here. Sometimes when they edit the change in workbench, the RS package can get dropped and saleman doesn't notice. If you make any changes, tell you friend/salesman to have the inventory manager make a new copy of the workbench sheet, say for you own records.

Quick background; Last week my husband and I bought a SIM 2LT/RS from a friends dealership. We love it but after looking around a lot more, we are both in love with the IOM SS so we ordered one through the same friends dealership. The 2LT will be being sold. (Don't ask, my husband is in the car business and this kind of stuff is normal for him) Anyways, the car we ordered is an IOM 2SS/RS, sunroof, interior trim package, polished wheels and GFX.

Question #1: The Chevy website says the GFX are a dealer installed option. Is this really the case? The GFX do not come attached from the factory? Does this mean the GFX just bolt on to the existing bumper cover? I know that's how after market GFX work, but I kind of thought these factory ones would be attached a little nicer.

Question #2: I've only seen one picture so far of the IOM with GFX and they looked like they were cyber gray. Is that the color GFX I can expect with an IOM car? I've seen a picture of the Rally Yellow car with GFX and they were RY as well. Same with a black car, the GFXs were black.

Question #3: I read the thread here where people were having trouble with their order getting messed up when they selected the polished wheels. The RS package got dropped, or other options they had selected. Is this still likely a problem and something we need to have our friend stay on top of?

Last Question: About how long can I expect to be biting my nails waiting for the arrival of this car? A month? 6-8 weeks? Longer?

Thanks in advance to whoever reads this far and attempts answering some of my many questions!
The GFX are dealer installed, they come as Dark agent Gray. The dealer will not paint them unless you ask... for a premium... They usually get to the dealer before the car does so take them to a paint shop first.

Check out post #22, he has an IOM with painted GFX
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18918

The RS package is only a problem if you change your order after initially placing it. SO as long as you keep it the same no worries, if you have your friend change your order, then yes be sure to have him check to see if the RS package dropped off.

Sorry I just wanted to be very clear and precise on your questions, it seemed if some of the answer were not very clear, some had unfinished explanations like making you think the dealer paints the GFX for free (then later resolved by another post) anyway just wanted it all in one post LOL

I would not get the gfx (which is not cyber grey). The graphics are taped on with 3M double sided tape for the most part on the ones I've seen being installed. You can see gaps around the top edges in certain areas up close which makes it look cheap. They do look better when painted the same color though. the car looks great (better in my opinion) without it. Adding polished rims is easy, just double check the order after they are added which is common sense. You will be waiting a long time depending on how many allocations your dealer has left and or how many people are in front of you priority wise..

this thread has an IOM with unpainted GFX and stripes.

However I prefer it like this...without the RS package since I like the bumblebee lights better.. Re-watch Transformers and you'll see these lights on that Camaro..

I too am thinking of doing the same thing you guys are and am in the same area of the world as y'all . My wife and I just got the 2LT RS V6 last week and while she is 100% fine....I am just wondering about the V8. Did you guys sale yours as used through the Dealership or private party? We only have 500 miles on ours. I am not sure I am going to do anything but am curious has to your thoughts and how you guys came out on your trade or sale. Ideally, I would like to keep the 2LT RS V6 and also order the SS V8, but am pretty sure the wife is not going to be all to happy with the option. Have you guys had the chance to drive the V8? Did that play a role in you deciding to move to the SS V8?

Thanks,

Don

The best way to answer this question:
Last Question: About how long can I expect to be biting my nails waiting for the arrival of this car? A month? 6-8 weeks? Longer?

Any where from 5 weeks to 9 months.....

I've had mine on order for 9 weeks -- 2 days (it's not
like I am counting)

No complaints here though. The people that have ordered in Oct.
and still have not received their cars I really do feel bad for.
