Replace convertible rear spoiler and antenna

These wires with the white connector plug into the spoiler. Are they needed with the relocation?

I plugged it in today without plugging into the spoiler and it worked fine.

You can remove it without destroying it. Once the spoiler is removed and the 3 access holes are unscrewed. Remove the 2 black push in plugs. You will destroy them to get to the antenna. The antenna has double side tape you can break free with a flat head. I dont have the patience to keep trying to spin it so the left end goes into the bottom corner to pull it out. So I broke open the factory spoiler with a hammer in the left corner to remove the antenna intact since im using 2015 SS spoiler. I am planning on putting the antenna on the rear bumper with double side tape and extending the wires.

You don't have to cut it. Simply remove the 2 black push plugs near the center access hole. Its stuck in by double stick tape pop it loose with a flat head. You may have to bend it a bit to get it out but its thin aluminum, so bending it back won't be a issue.
