Please don't be offended that I added a picture, but that is what goes through my head when I hear it.
So as this is my first post, I thought I would pick the one thing I've had as the only problem with my vert. The squeek above. That horrible, annoying sound from styrofoam hell. Worse than fingernails on a chalkboard for me.

Heard it in my left ear, from the dash area up and behind my seat. Wife heard it near the glovebox and around the back seat. The squeek was so bad that top up or down with even the radio on, it was clear as a bell in my ear.

So, I decided to brave the dealership before diving in myself and pulling panels and plastic. Just knew it was goning to be an eye roller. "You added a CAI, your leather cleaner got in the crackes of the fabric, your farts are high pitched." Anything to pass the buck back to me or the type of car it was.

Well, my service writer listened to my description of the squeek and said, "I had a gal in here a while back that had the same squeek you described. Try this, open the hood, and lets adjust the rubber bumbers the hood rests on." Instantly I'm like ah, huh? No really he says and I pop the hood, he turns the rubber bumpers up (out) a half turn. "Go drive it and if it's still there, come back and we'll get it written up and back to the guys."

Now off I go. Find the back road out of the dealers which is nice and bumpy. Hammer it across this crappy pavement and NOT A SOUND! Drive over this road, out and about a 7-10 mile circle around the area, finding any bump I see and make sure I hit it square. Golden silence. Even find a nice long left hand curve to let the back end swing out under full acceleration. Totally and completely eliminated that horrible styrofoam box squeek!

Shout out to my service writer Bill at Brandon Florida Chevy. If he hadn't seen this very problem before on a vert, I'm sure we would have had weekly visits for the next attempt to eliminate a really annoying noise.

After the last 4 or 5 weeks of the noise, I have the nice quiet car I DIDN'T expect to have for a convertable.

Funny you mention this. I had those tightened at 130 miles. I had a huge clunk over bumps which turned out to be the exhaust, but in diagnosing the issue, I noticed the hood was fairly loose, and could also have caused the sound.

Quick update. Dealer fixed the problem. Had to pull off interior trim on both sides and insulate.

I was actually shocked they got it on the first visit. I hope it doesn't return, but for now it's pretty quiet inside.
