aabreu09 I have a very easy fix to your problem. Send me a PM with your phone number.

Kenkartasasmita send me a PM , I will show you how to fix it.
That plastic housing that holds the Paddles costs only $17 from any GM Parts Online store if someone needs to replace it.

Out of 350 sets sold so far , this is only the second time I hear such a problem. The other one scratched that plastic housing because they did not use a small flat screw driver to push in the aluminum hinges.

Yes, exactly. You have to be careful not to hit the Paddles very hard with your knee or with anything else.

Even if you manage to brake or scratch that plastic housing, we do have a simple fix, just PM and I will send you the details.

Makes sense, you're replacing a plastic button that doesn't stick out at all that then connects into a plastic housing with a piece of pretty strong metal that is longer into the same plastic housing..if it gets hit hard enough and in the right way I absolutely see the plastic breaking, we know the aluminum isn't going to give while it is in a plastic setting - but you can be assured that plastic is.

I haven't got mine in yet but I will be interested to inspect myself. I don't see this as a problem for regular use though, only those times you manage to punch a paddle with way more than tap shift force or carelessly hitting your knee/leg on it.

Member Dtrimpi87 also had his right paddle break the plastic. He ended up buying a new wheel.

First thing, why buy a new steering wheel when you can just replace these small plastic housings at $17 ? (See picture below).

To fix this, you simply make the connecting part of the aluminum Paddles a little wider, this makes the hinges further apart and will alow them to hold through a little deeper in those plastic housing holes. Using 2 priers, place them right next to the hinges and pull opposite directions to make it like 1 or 2 mm wider. (see picture below).

I haven't seen so far any broken housing. When you look at the 3rd picture above of " aabreu09 " it is only scratched from the bottom and this will be a very simple fix.

Cool, thanks for posting! That makes sense! Question tho...what's with the second pic of the factory paddle? What are you showing there?

[Edit]. Never mind...I'm assuming that's the $17 part? Is it easy to make that plug connection?

actually just met up with horizon670 from vitesse motorsports. He did exactly what he showed in the picture he posted above. These paddles are more of a permanent thing for me so making them wider made them have a very tight fit which is what i really wanted. Superb customer service, now im happy again!!

I am relieved to hear this, I took my paddle shifters off to send them in to get hydro-dipped in carbon fiber, and I am 99% sure I broke the plastic housing. I am happy to hear I didn't ruin it!
