Oh, goody! Can't wait to hear more...
Anyone catch the P/N on this bad boy? The site's navigation is less than navigable.

Call Yank and have them build one to suit your needs.

Yank is a great converter, but remember they are single disc and are not recommended to be locked at WOT...locking at WOT will assist you roll racers by improving MPH vs ET.

My triple disc VIG picked up MPH in the 1/4 when I started locking it earlier...
It doesn't do much for ET, but it will close the MPH gap vs a 6 speed manual car.

Yank vs VIG...you can't go wrong either way.

I just called Yank and had it sitting here before the car...

as for retune, buy your own setup for tuning, or go to a shop.. I use efi live.

a converter is what connects the engine to tranny... basically a slipper clutch.. and allows the slip until locked.. the higher the stall speed only means it may slip a little more, to the higher rpm, where the engine makes more torque/power which in turn makes the car way quicker. It does create a bit more heat, not an issue but just an FYI..

I'll ask some questions I'm sure at least a few people would like to know:
What's the price?
Is it street legal?
Will it void warranties from most dealers?
Is it okay for a daily driver?
Thanks!

i have the YANK SS3200 and it is a night and day difference from the stock converter, there is also major trans tuning to get the new converter to work correctly, i use hp tuners

I think you're getting an "If you have to ask, you shouldn't try it." response..My guess.

warranty issues IMO if caused by the part added would not be warrantied.. so a fine line of what ifs..

$ for converters are like $600-1000 depending on companies and style.

MPG would only be affected in low speed city driving, and not by much again IMO.

Price: $800-1000
Street Legal: Yes
Void Warranties: Yes (its up to the dealer, but I would think it would most definitely void the transmission warranty, and if they really want to be sticklers it would likely void the powertrain).
OK for DD: Yes, I have a Vig 3200 (which now stalls like 3700) on my TBSS, and drive it daily. When the converter is locked, I got as good or better MPG than stock, when the converter is NOT locked...it will suck some gas. The computer (TCM) controls converter lock/unlock, and this can be altered via tuning.

Guys, understand this about all these warranty questions...if you are concerned about warranty buy GMPP or leave it stock...PERIOD. There is almost always a chance that a dealer will void your warranty over aftermarket parts. Alot of it depends on how significant the mod and how much of a butthole the dealer wants to be. I would suggest for you to not mod this if you will HAVE to have it for your main form of transportation, unless you have enough money saved up to fix the problem that the mod can cause...ie new tranny, new motor, new rearend etc.

JMHO.

What about a shift kit? Cooler? Did you install either of those with the converter? Does that 6L80E have a pwm solenoid? If so did you bypass it?
