What is it about a 4th gen that is making you want one of those as well?

I can relate a little bit to post #2. My 4th gen was my first camaro (although my uncle has owned and built several camaros in the past), and it also paid homage to my first car, a '77 Olds Cutlass w/ a 350-4 barrel. My 4th gen represented everything that my first car could not be, so to me its special.
Fortunately or unfortunately, any car that I'll buy going forward will be influenced by my 4th gen. Not necessarily a bad thing, but for me it just means more cars and more fun!

4th gens were nice looking cars but as the times changed in the car business they fell into an afterthought of cheap. I hope to one day own another 00-02 LS1 Camaro or Trans Am in addition to my 5th gen, then again I'd also love to have a 04-06 GTO as well. lol. Something about LSx powered cars!

I miss my 2002 SS but I wouldn't go so far as to say I regret selling it.

I actually purchased a 2002 ss with slp center exhaust to go along with the 5th gen, thought it would be cool to have both, so I had the car about two months and never drove it, so i sold it. I do kind of miss my 2001 ws6 trans am though.

Would probably regret it also if I had sold mine. Bought 93 Z28 in June of 93, she has 107,000 miles on her and my daily driver for the last 20 years. Plan on driving her as long as I can. I filled up the maintenance log and started another sheet with all the info. Have recorded every oil change, brake job and even new fuses I've ever replaced. Took care of her the best I could. Plan on keeping my 5th gen and taking the same care if not better of this car.

I sold my 98 TA to make room for my ZL1. I was the original owner and it was highly modified (stroker motor, big converter, etc) mostly for drag racing. It was paid for so that's what I miss the most; but I do miss it at times (especially the big cam idle). When I owned both I would drive the cars back to back and found myself wanting to drive the ZL1 more because it's simply more fun and pleasant to drive.

I had 3 4th gens. I became of driving age during the 4th gens so they will always hold some nostalgic memories for me.
My 1996 RS - 3.8 v6 - I regret selling it because it was my first Camaro and I owned it for 13 years so there is a lot of attachment there. The good news is I sold it to my nephew so I still get to see it. I hope to buy it back in a few years after he finishes high school. My 2002 SS - had the 345HP SLP package. I regret selling this car because I think stock for stock it is just as fast as my 2012 SS and now I think I should have just kept on rocking it because I'd still have a paid off car today. My 1995 Z28 - was just a quick impulse buy that I owned for a year. I don't really regret selling this much. I do miss that crazy low torque of the LT1. ![]() Hope that answers your question a little....

Nothing that I can't get from my 5th gen. Just got soft spot for them. It was my dream car through high school. It's mostly a nostalgic thing. They are fine little cars just not better than the 5th gen in any way really.

I never found the 4th generation very appealing, however, I do miss my '69 Z28 and '68 SS. I suppose that's why I bought a 5th gen, because it reminds me so much of the old body style..........but way better performance and creature comforts too.
