I would just get it done before storage then if it was me.

This has popped up before. You just need to drive around for a bit and the car will display the correct heading. Nothing to worry about.

The Compass can lose calibration if sitting too long, driving in a 360° circle over a 1/2 mile range should recalibrate it.

By this I mean go a few blocks turn, go a few blocks turn, until you cover North, South, East, West..

you can also do the same in a large parking lot.

Second:

GPS.

over the past few days the GPS satellites have been under going maintenance and software updates:

see this link:

http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/?Do=constellationStatus

I monitor it every so often, and there were scheduled outages on Feb 26th, 27th and 28th.. The next is on March 6th

While typically having 1 or 2 satellites out isn't an issue, it really depends on where you are and if the online ones can triangulate your position..

I was having issues with my phone gps as were several others at my office, so I started monitoring them, and found several links and references to software upgrades in the onboard systems over the past few days.

My Camaro compass has displayed "CAL" for four days. The owner's manual says to drive it around in an open area for a short period of time to recalibrate and re-establish connection with the satellites. However, over the last four days, I have driven a LOT on the highway (open area) and it still has not re-set. Any suggestions?

My Compass went out back in 2012, after coming out of wither storage, On a trip south . I went to the dealer to get it fixed , they had no idea , I did the drive around in a circle at a mall for 30 mins. and traveled around , it still never reset . then My onstar quit working . the dealer said they would have to rip out my whole dash to find the problem . I was like no freaking way . I don't use On Star any more but like it once in a while . but pissed off about ripping out the dash . I wouldn't do it . So I have no compass for the last 2 years , I live with out it . I tried to reset by the menu and tried all the tricks but nothing works.

My 2011 convertible compass has read "CAL" for over a week now. I have driven on the "open road" (highway) every day, driven in circles in a parking lot, made left turn/right turn maneuvers several times... still reads "CAL." Any other suggestions other than taking it into a dealer?
