In the Fall of 2007 I was talking about cars with one of the guys at work. He was complaining about Shelbys and how he couldn't afford one. I told him I'm sure he could find something better and he said well what do you think of this .... He showed me this site and I have been hooked on this car ever since. How I restrained myself for so long in not sending in my comments ever time I read about this car - is beyond me. I check the site almost daily. I only miss days where I am swamped at work and running all evening with the kids. I still don't know how I will afford it-since I don't do car payments and pay cash for everything-but I will "keep the faith" and get one no matter what!

January 2006. Sitting in front of the television with my laptop not really paying attention to the news.

Next thing I know I hear 'new Camaro'. My head/eyes immediately snap up to the tv to a 5 second view of the Concept at the Detroit Auto Show. Up until that point I had accepted the fact that I'd never see a new Camaro again.

I instantly started looking up info online. I was VERY excited/happy.

A few days later I mention it to my mother, and she says she was going to ask if I'd heard there was a new Camaro. She'd seen it on the news too.

I saw it in Motor Trend magazine just after it's autoshow debut. I was working at a Chevy dealership at the time and had a subscription that i kept at my desk for customers while they were waiting to get into finance. I can't tell you how many conversations I had about that magazine that month. It was hardly ever on my desk, because all of the other salesmen kept snatching it to show their customers.

My wife and I were talking about building a 69 Camaro. I had a subscription to Chevy Hi Po at the time. Saw an article saying when the concept was to be debuted. Waited for the video to be posted online, watched it and the rest is history. Found this site and lurked around for a while. Now I'm a member and 5th Gen Camaro crack head.

I was sitting in the theatre eating my popcorn and enjoying the Transformers movie when Bumblebee flys by a Concept Camaro and transforms. Popcorn fell out of my mouth and I could hear people asking.. "what kind of car is that? It's cool!" I was like... oh beejeezus... how much is that car... I want it now!

Then I surfed the net the next morning and found out it was a Concept car and my heart broke. Time went by and for whatever reason I had forgotten about the Camaro. Then I bought the Transformers DVD and that's when lightning struck me when I saw Megan Fox laying on the hood of Bumblebee. I need to know when this car is coming out! I googled Concept Camaro and found a couple of Forums. I chose these one to lurk in for a while and finally when I couldn't hold my excitement any longer... I started posting in Dec.

I guess for me it was January of 2006, maybe February. At the time, I didn't really like it. The car's design seemed so far away from production, while the Challenger seemed closer. I liked the Chally's interior more than the Camaro. When the orange vert came out, I saw how the interior could be better by just changing some textures and colors, and how it was actually viable for production. Since then, it's been the Camaro or bust for me.

In 1999 I new that theCamaro ws going away in 2002 do to sales. I was a Service Writer for a Chevy Dealer shipin Naples, Fl. at the time. On of the guys I worked with there has a cousin who worked or still may work at DEI. And mention that it was only going away for a limited time. You know as the old saying goes Absence makes the Heart grow funder.

In 2003 I had heard some rumblings about the Gen 5 being in the early stages. And as time went on I started hearing more and more things. I aso saw alot of those pics posted on the first page and said man I hope they do a through back!!! Then the Auto show came around and she was here. I have always been aCamaro fan with my uncle having a 69 and all sooooo... Once I saw it I new I wanted it... That's my story, I'm sticking to it!

Mine was when I saw the leaked photo of the half-and-half clay model. I honestly wasn't too impressed by it, and I could see why GM was so upset that it got out.

Even when the official photos got out just ahead of the 06 Detroit Auto Show, I still needed some convincing. Something about the first few media photos was just off. I think it was the angles they used.

Then a few days later, I went down and saw it in person. I was stunned at how good it looked in person. Where the Challenger was a huge, chunky boat, this car was sharp and sculpted. The Camaro had spent its hiatus working out, getting ready not just to compete again, but to WIN.

Seeing the convertible and later Bumblebee just floored me all over again. The stripes and the colors on those two cars really show off the shape of the car so much better than the silver does.
