Yea that's not true about Vettes blowing rear end's. The Dana 36 is the closest thing to the Current Camaro 5th Gen rear end. And that was 84-96 in Vette. Beyond that the tranny and rear end got even better in 5th and 6th Gen Vettes.

So your dealers is an idiot for sure. Camaro was not designed to dethrone Corvette from GM's top performance coupe position.

Funny thing is they didn't know that mine should arrive soon, really I could care less about which one is faster. I like the Camaro decided when I saw a rendering not to purchase a 69, restore it and drive it, would have probably had more than 40 k in it. Now I will have the best of both worlds cool car, great performance and hopefully something that will be around for many years. One other thing I was curious about I have seen alot on her about mods, specifically powertrain mods. What good are they? So what if you have 650 rwhp, where are you going to use it, how are you going to put it to the pavement?

Well, besides the ego-boost of 'my camaro has 610 hp', there will be some people that build theirs up to race it. as for putting it to the pavement, i know very little about the mechanics of a car and such, buuut bigger tires and improved suspension?

lol thats the most ive ever heard... the SS and standard base corvette are very similar in preformance... however, teh ZO6 and ZR1 are of the best preformance stock cars in the world ... especially the ZR1... theres very few cars that preform better stock... and all the ones that do are nearly 3-4 times the price (ZR1 stock 0-60 = 3.3 seconds and 1/4 mile in 11.2 ... and the ZO6 is only about .5 seconds behind that) ... lol yea no way in hell will a camaro compete with that unless you make some serious mods

Only reason I say that is because my nephew has a 05 GT Mustang with 625 rwhp but he can't put it to the ground, spins too much or either it stays broke from too much hp. I would rather have dependable hp and be able to drive it more.

LOL Dude... /facepalm

Drag racing is any car over a 1/4 mile on a timer. It could be a puma.

Now if your talking about custom high power over 500 then that is not a comparison of Camaro VS Vette but of a single custom car.

Vettes drag race so please.

Thank You have a nice day.

The 4.3 seconds it takes the base vette get to 60 is really a dog, maybe GM should shoot it and put it out of its misery.

Putting someone in the back seat of my vettes a real PIA! LOL

The camaro SS and C6 Vette are both great performance cars....

Ones a two seater..ones a four seater.. with the four seater holding an extra 500 lbs..

Pick your poison.. and enjoy either..

I wish I had the extra cash laying around to have one of each....

fwiw..the G8 GT and the CTS V are cool four door versions of GM's hot performance lineup that rock too..

its a really great time to be a GM performance enthusiast..

Gotta say though at 31 grand...the base Camaro SS is a smokin deal!

To me it is the best of both worlds, I could find a 69 Camaro and have to fix it the way I wanted, paying through the nose, after I find Someone reputable to do it, then wait 2 years for them to do the work, yada yada yada. Most people my age were not teenagers when the Muscle car boom was happening and this is the next best thing. I do have a 1963 C-10 Stepside being fixed, street rodded, now and know all about the perils of custom car work. Hopefully soon I can get it back but it will have 500 hp or close to that ZZ383 with street and performance fuel injection, 4L80E tranny, my concern was putting it too the ground, but they say no worries since the old truck is heavy, but I can promise you that I will not rawhide it, too much money

OMG Wow, just WOW! W...T...F!... WOW! ...WHY! ...Thats just! ...Come on! Really?.... He said THAT! FAIL!

Dang, I lost that FAIL smiley GTA made for me. It's on my desktop at home, but if I had it here It would bring down the servers at camaro5 there would be so many...

THIS WILL DO! This is almost exactly the expression I had when I read that.
