Just like everyone else said. You busted the spider gears. I don't know what you thought you were doing with any kind of clutch drop on stock parts. I busted mine at the track along with an axle. I have spate axles and a diff, so I'm ready if it happens again.

Only fix costs minimum 6 Grand.

Clutch dumps kill spider gears, because one tire will always have more traction then the other, which causes the spiders to go from 0 - a zillion rpm instantly. They're tiny, so this causes them to flex and break. Automatic cars wont bust posis, because the gears are preloaded and wont get 'hit' hard like a clutch dump does. I havent hurt a single driveline part since I went auto, and I'm considering switching back to stock axles to save driveline weight.

OP, if you don't have $6k to drop on a full-blown rear end conversion, just get the Eaton Truetrac for now. I upgraded to GM 3.91 Gears, JRE Billet Main Caps, and LPW Diff Cover, and the Truetrac unit from here:

I know it's not as good or strong as the G-Force 9", DSS 9", or Hammerhead Conversions, but at least I didn't have to put down a second mortgage on my house, and I don't have the spider gears anymore. I plan on upgrading my axles and driveshaft sometime soon, and then I can use them with the Hammerhead unit once the money fairy leaves me a pile of cash for substantial upgrades!!! BTW, just FYI, your DSS driveshaft should work with the Hammerhead as well.

keep in mind if you purchase our axles and shaft it can be used with the Hammerhead so it would not be money wasted, i know it may not be what you want to hear but doing it this way might not hurt as much (manual cars only)
