Can't please everyone. Nothing doesn't gets trapped in the vent, yes it does work. You can see the refraction from it.

There's a member here on Camaro5 who retro-fitted the factory 2014 hood vent onto his pre-2014 SS! He made it look easy.

Here ya go:

Truth that it works. Every time I stop at a stop light I can see the heat shimmer from the extractor pulling hot engine compartment air out through it. And that is while the car is stationary. I imagine its much more when moving but you cant really see it then.

If the hood vent did nothing and was a show piece, it wouldn't be on the Z28...

True, I had stop parking in the woods and now keep it inside

Yeah...the original 1969 cowl induction hood/air cleaner assembly are now very valuable junk traps.

My '69 disc brake 12 bolt rear was functional, but it was too valuable to ever actually install it. Same goes for the factory headers and cross ram dual intake that came in the trunk of a Z28 (to be installed by the dealer). I paid for the options when a buddy ordered a new Z28 when he came back from the 'Nam. I took them home and stored them away. They were sold for enough to make a hell of a down payment on a new home when my enlistment was up.

No different than a ZL1 hood insert any mine does not catch any junk in it.

because he wanted to contribute to the thread? would you rather him just start another thread? and then we'll get people in here telling them .

some people just like to complain I guess.
