Shouldn't raise your rates.

She do it too close to your car or was it windy? This is why I make sure any spray work is way out from anything I don't want overspray going. Do you rent? Just wondering if the neighbor has any insurance. At a minimum she should cover your deductible.

Good luck.

It was probably done 5ish feet away (her driveway is almost touching mine and I had my car parked on that side) and yeah pretty windy here today.

depends on the cost of the repair, your insurance company, and your claim history. if it can be fixed for a grand or two and you haven't filed a claim in a loooooong time then they probably wont. most insurance companies give you 1 "freebie" claim. if, on the other hand, you've filed claims in the last year or three, or it turns out to be very expensive then yes, they probably will raise your rates.

That sucks.
Is it coming off the paint but not coming off the vinyl stripes?
Clay should remove it from the paint but it may have embedded into the vinyl.

at the very least her homeowners insurance owes you a very expensive professional detail. dont let the neighbor off the hook.

I would suggest stopping your attempts at cleaning this up before you do more damage. Get her HO insurance info and go from there. There is NO WAY you should be paying for any repair or respray unless you want to. That's what your neighbor has HO insurance for and that's one of the reasons you pay for auto ins. as well.

She is financially response for the damage. That's what insurance is for.

Are those stripes painted? If so, it shouldn't be a problem removing all of the overspray. You could go to a detail shop and have them completely detail the outside of the car. Compound with a porter cable will easily take that off the paint. It's on the clearcoat, NOT the actual paint. It would cost you $300+ to get a good detail shop to completely compound, seal, and rewax the entire car. Personally, i'd take that $$ and buy a good PC or DA, pads, and products and do it myself. That way you have all the stuff to do it again and again for the price of ONE trip to the detail shop. Many people don't think they can do it but it really isn't that hard, just time consuming. As Junkman says, "the only way to hurt your paint with a PC/DA, is to swing it by the cord into the side of your car". Once you start to REALLY clean your car, it becomes addictive. You'll find yourself working towards perfection.

If it was my car, I would just claybar it and re wax it. i don't trust anyone with my cars unless it is absolutely something I can't do. I am almost positive claybar will take this off.

Stripes are vinyl... Good idea with purchasing the stuff I might do that.

Yeah I am done trying to fix it, it will be fixed professionally Monday or so, when shops are open.

Yep. Won't let anyone off the hook for this. The amount of time I put into keeping my car clean and looking brand new and then this $#@%... I am a very forgiving person once all that was wrong is made right!
