JP in da house!!!!

I am going to have to bleed them before the next event, RA May 4-5, and yes I did have a TON of dust at the bottom of my wheels when done. It was a hell of a day. I am at least down to 3700 lbs. last time I weighed it with a 1/4 tank of gas. But still heavy.

What pad did you use when you were running your red car in this area? (Gingerman/Autobahn)

I also scuff with sandpaper between pad swaps.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

Cobalt Friction XR1 front and XR3 rear with the SS calipers. XR1 front and XR2 rear with the CTS-V front six pots.

I do like Blu808's roll bar with the removable crossbar. Unobtrusive and a bit more safety without losing the rear seat. Just not good for dual duty drag racing.
I contacted Blu808 a few weeks ago. He no longer makes the bar. So I have a guy at the shop I deal with building one just like Blu's for me. He has built stock cars, cages, frames, etc. and has all the bending equipment.

Our fronts 4 piston pots are the same as the CTS-V rears right?

If so these would work to keep heat down in our pads, right?
http://www.girodisc.com/Girodisc-Rea...-V_p_6234.html

Plus, this rebuild kit would be better than the OEM rubber ones?
http://www.racingbrake.com/Boots-and...-p/bc-42bs.htm
Of course I do not see the stainless steel pistons.

I am going to make some phone calls on Monday to see if these will work.

Thoughts?

The notches reduce the conact area and therefore reduce heat transfer. The Brembo GT-R (not a nissan, GT Racing Brake Kits) do it this way.

Brembo takes it one step further and machines in air ducts to that flow air through the holes. I have seen the data on the Brembo system and it absolutely works. The RB notches I would think would help some. The back plate for the pad should be thick enough to carry the load evenly, I think.

The titanium insulator will make a difference, but are not a replacement for brake ducts.

Just my HO.

Yea, still working on the brake ducts.

Are those pistons available for our stock pots?

Good question. My guess is no because the GT-R calipers have inter seals, but I'll ask.

Ok, a bit of an update.

I have been informed that the stock SS brake Calipers are actually the 1st gen(04-07) Cadillac CTS-V front Calipers not the second(09-12) gen rear calipers. Can anyone else confirm this?

Pete,
Any word from Brembo on those pistons?

I talked to GiroDisc yesterday and they now have a Section for us, Ti Plates, pads, rebuild kits, etc.

http://www.girodisc.com/5th-Gen-Camaro-_c_1006.html

I am also going to give the Cobalt Friction pads a shot.

I am going to wait until some of the folks who have done their home grown brake ducts get on track and see how they perform.

See y'all at the track, real soon.

I've had a good experience using StopTech's "Street-Performance" pads. Minimal to no fade during 20 min HPDE sessions at MSR. Moderate dusting but can get a little noisy once they get some wear on them. Somehwere here on Camaro5 a vendor also reported good feedback on them too.

T, here's another place I found for the titanium plates up in Naperville. They sell them various thicknesses. http://hardbrakes.com/index.php?main...products_id=30

Call Scott at SuperCar about the Cobalt pads. Tell him what model you're looking for, he has a hook up with some distributor.

Just got my Ti plates in the mail today from Hard Brake. They line up perfectly with the pads.
