me too. stock vs stock the 300lbs ligher , 3.91, higher rpm range vs heavier, 3.73, 80hp more.

the ZL1 definatly has the durability advantage though to run pass after pass. it will also mod "easier". I think people are underestimating a low geared LS7.

It just seems to me than the Z28 should be .5 seconds faster or so than a 1le. if thats the case it is going to be a good race.

...and don't forget the 19" rear tires are shorter (that's one reason for the wheel opening flare/filler), so the 3.91 final drive is really more like 4.30+. Combined with R-compound standard rubber, very low 12s...if not better?

Heat soak, run after run, should NOT be as much of an issue with the naturally-aspirated Z/28 as it is with the hot-pump-supplied ZL1...
