Correct. I was in error.
The Y87 was indeed an option on the 1996-2002 V6 models - except on the 2001-02 RS cars.

This is good info either way and like demonspeed said, at the end of the day I do have a nicely optioned V6. And even though it's not a true RS, with everything I've done to it, and am going to do to it, It's an RS to me. well actually a ZRS ( my own custom designation Either way I'm happy with my car and proud of the work I've been able to do myself to it. i also did a VIN check and found this ...
