I think it looks much better than before but in my opinion The high wing still looks out of place on the Camaro.

The worst part is getting the spoiler off the car without damaging anything. It is a 3 piece spoiler. The tape they use is stronger than the 4 bolts that hold it on, but also my car has 1400 miles on it and is never outside. The pedestals are taped to the wing in the same fashion and equally hard to remove. ![]() There's a quick connector under the trunk liner, no need to go any further unhooking the spoiler light. ![]() The 4 bolts that mount your highwing will likely not come out without a fight, you will find out why later. I fought and won with 3 had to drill one.

I found WD-40 and a shoelace cut through the tape decently. Some would say to use fishing line but this is tough tape and the shoelace didn't scratch my car. I also found bug and tar remover to be an acceptable tape dissolver as well. I didn't want to use a heat gun because the spoiler is ABS plastic. I used a lot of tape too.

This is how the wing should have looked from the beginning, the stock one was just too high and looked out of place. Good work OP!

So I have the upright (blocks) off and all taped up. I decided to cut the tops and leave the bottom alone so I would still maintain a solid footprint for mounting back on the deck lid. I marked a line .850 from the top surface all the way around and went to the band saw and cut them off. In hindsight I would have taken more off as the sawcut came out really square to my surprise.

The next part I have removed all traces of factory two sided tape from trunk surface and bottom of spoiler. I bolt the blocks in place on the deck lid using regular bolts and nuts.
![]() ![]() Next for the custom fit........

Nice mod. Kinda the other end of the spectrum, but I wish you could order a Camaro SS without a spoiler at all. I think it would look cool with a smooth deck lid.

a not so high-wing spoiler...cool. How did you mount the pedestals to the wing?..glue?

Next step take the DA sander and sand the tops until it fits right, little by little I sanded the tops until it was right. Finished up with a jitterbug sander. Like I said there is no tape on any of the parts yet so I fitted the spoiler close because I knew the tape would raise it back up. During this process I also bolt it down with the real studs to see how far the whole thing is gonna pull when tightened.

I like my blade spoiler, I mean don't get me wrong the high rise is great but i had one before and it affected my vision :( mine is nice and sleek with %100 visuals in the mirror.
I like yours modded tho
