From what ive gathered if you put bad gas in and then do these steps it will fix it? Is this simular to the fuse pull for the NPP exhaust? What ever that is?
It's not just bad gas but lower than 91/93 octane. The Camaro has two tables, one for 87 (regular) and one for 91/93. The 87 or low octane table runs at reduced power. The early Camaro's were found to not be able to switch back and forth reliably. Seeing that most dealerships would put the cheapest gas they could find in your car when they get them, our cars would come off the lot with 30+whp less, just from the low octane table. Even after several tanks of super unleaded was run through the engine, they would still be in the low table. The fuse pull will reset the PCM to the high octane table. Disconnecting the battery will do the same thing but this keeps you from having to reset the radio and bluetooth stuff. Most of us just did it for good measure since it's free and doesn't hurt anything.
