I agree.....putting washers or spacers is down right dangerous.

i don't think it's illegal to adjust seat frames or anything like that because people put racing seats and other custom seats in all the time, also custom shops have been doing this for years, thats how guys in the NFL or NBA get into all these sports cars they either have to have the seat moved back and or lowered. with that being said i do believe you have to use the same grade hardware that are set by the standards of the car manufacture

i put in bucket seats that i made the frame for my truck and i know that they are now stronger than what came stock

Theres nothing illegal about sticking washers in your seat bolts to raise it, and your insurance company will cover you should the worst happen. That said, that is a downright BAD idea unless done right, using longer and stronger grade 8 hardware and thread locker on all bolts and nuts. Just because your covered by insurance doen't mean its ok to faceplant the windshield.

Thanks for all the comments....Just trying to let my wife see above the dash !!!! LOL I am looking for some longer grade 8 bolts, perhaps at the chevy dealer and some washers. I may try the hockypuck idea and see how much it raises the seet!

They should probably offer it as an option in future years.

I think this is a big problem and oversight by GM also.

We just picked up my 2SS/RS today and my wife kept complaing how she can barely see over the dash and could not raise her seat. I kept saying how cool my view was seeing the hood bump, valley then fender. She can only see the hood bump, bummer.

You would think when you buy the top line Camaro the passenger seat would have more adjustments.

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the HEIGHT of the passenger seat on the 2SS/RS? If not, does anyone have any good ideas on how to do it? I need to raise it 1”-2”.

Try a wedge pillow in the seat and cut it down to fit it.

You just posted on an 8 year old thread. This hasn't been an issue since at least the '12 model.
