OK, HELP with speakers! I currently have a 2013 ZL1 vert and installed the subthumb fark and a JL AMP 700-5 and installed a kicker 10" sub and now I'm looking at what kinda speakers to use in the doors and rear seat area? Any suggestions would help, thanks.

Verts use different speakers in the rear. They are like a small 4 1/2" driver. Not worth messing with in my opinion. Just put a quality speaker in the front/doors. The coupe and vert use the same front speakers.

Finally got the JL c2-650 in last weekend. I need to still get into the trunk and turn off the hp filter on the amp but it's definitely a better, cleaner sound. I can see why some guys are choosing NOT to use the factory location for the amp!!!!!

I also got the C2-690 for the rears. I'll do those in the next week or so over the holiday.

I was sore for 2 days as well. I'm not a contortionist any more.

It's not a difficult install at all... The worst part is cutting the speaker wire to lengths to get from the crossover to the woofer and then crossover to tweeter. Given I took my time, I was 3 or 3.5 hours doing it alone and doing the wiring.

When you put the end connectors on... Be sure of what you are doing...

I ended up digging for a couple extra connectors in my electrical tool box due to my bone headed-ness and not checking twice befor crimping down ... Put same connectors on both ends of a speaker wire length... Duh!

Best advice I'd give someone doing this themselves is to prep the wiring the night before in the comfort of your living room. Cut Two lengths of 12 inches and two lengths of 4 feet of speaker wire and crimp the connectors on (forks on the end to the crossover and speaker connections on other end. Wide speaker connection is positive. Narrow is negative.

.. Remember the wide one is positive!

2nd worst part is making sure all of the drivers door plugs are re-connected. Abl, handle wire, windows, mirror, and door handle courtesy lights, trunk release...

There's a small hole next to the speaker opening in the door, I ran the tweeter wire out through there and tie wrapped it to the abl wiring on the door.

The tweeters don't quite fit in the little factory tweeter mounting. I basically tie wrapped it in there snugly so it couldn't move. Easy fix with the very small, short tie wraps.

Be sure to check and make sure they work before putting it all back together!!!!!!

Yes, you need the ******** adapters for the doors.

The amp replacement can be done without the FARK kit, but why would you go to the added trouble and expense of having to hack up the factory wiring?

The FARK kit allows installation of an aftermarket amp by simply plugging in adapters to the factory wiring. When you sell your car, or trade it, you can put it back to stock easily and take the aftermarket components with you for your next car without hassle or expense.

Further, the FARK kit allows even a real novice to install a new amp! It's really basic and easy stuff.

There's also a wire harness adapter for the doors you should get from ********, so you don't have to cut the factory plugs off the door speakers. You also want to get a wiring kit for the amp.

If you want to replace the amp using the FARK and want some help, let me know. It's easy. I took my time and did all the wiring up the night before in my house and the install took about 3 hours. There are threads on here to reference.

Thanks...I see on the ******** website there are different cutout options when purchasing the door adapters, what cutout size would I need for the JL c2650's?

I ordered them a couple of months ago. I don't recall the size, but ask Steve at ********... He'd know because I asked the same question.

Don't get the metra kit for these. I got one and they don't fit the JL c2-650 woofers. I originally didn't want the hassle of painting the wood and what not for waterproofing / moisture protection... But I ended up doing it anyway. I used the krylon primer and then krylon flat black. $3.95 per can at walmart.

By the way, get the amp mounting board too. You'll need that also.
