It's called "turn and earn". the more you sell, the more you get. If you sit and wait for mark ups, you sit and wait for more cars....although expect dealers to punch them sold so they can sell you a "used" car.

Okay, so next question is when does/did it switch to this format?

Can't the consumer pick up the fact it's USED in the paperwork?
What should the consumer look for?

It is changing to turn and earn as of this months allocations. As a dealer sells a camaro, they get an allocation. Their sold workbench orders count as part of new allocations as well.

The theory is that dealers will start sell on volume vs price. Although the theory will probably work out great when there is a glut of inventory, it wont really work out right this moment, since the Cam is sorta hard to find in some regions.

What is your weekly allocation schedule? My dealers schedule for june (june 15-july 15) was 2-1-0-0-1 for the 5 tuesdays in that date range. I was the "1" before the two weeks of "0" for shut down.

If you ask those two questions you should get more information. If there are 10 orders at 1100 infront of you, expect the wait to be long!
That just made me depressed.. Last week I was at 12 on the 1100 list at my dealer.. wow I could just

Yep, a dealer I was at today told me of this change. It's a good thing for us buyers as dealers will definitely get more aggressive on pricing!

that stinks, you may be able to get back your deposit and go somewhere else. If you find a dealer with an open allocation you could have the car very quick.

I agree. I don't really care b/c I am getting GMS but I am glad to see this will curb the mark ups. I am betting a few more months and the mark ups will be a thing of te past. Once Oshawa gets back online and they start cranking them out again, the back log should be eliminated pretty quick. After that it will be much easier and quicker to get one.

If this is true then, YAY!
so a sold order on work bench will count towards getting more cars in faster? Dealer says his waiting list to order is 70+, Im at 31. So it would be advantageous for the dealer to put the waiting list into workbench as sold orders? They're the only dealer here that is selling at or below MSRP. The other two are marking theirs up $10k-$15k

GM please do a major run of cars for us to fill the matson ship with Camaros!

In theory yes, your dealer will be getting fleets of cams in, while the other 2 dealers have cars rotting on their lots. Unless they get lucky and find someone who is absolutely clueless and doesn't shop around, they'll be stuck with them. That is why this change when into effect.

The Turn and Earn change is general knowledge at most dealerships now. You can, 'and should' use your knowledge of it as firepower when you're negotiating a price. I went into a dealership tonight and offered MSRP +500 for a 2SS sitting on their lot for a month, that has been marked up 10k. Stipulating that the sold order would guarantee them another car off the bench. I wasn't able to get them all the way down, but I was able to slice 7k off their mark up. Still not enough for me to want it, but it does show that dealerships are going to get more motivated to move the Cams, rather than have them sit on the lot.

Doesn't work that way with Servco... There's a reason why the wait list is long with them... 2 weeks ago, Cutter Chevrolet salesman said they have a black 2SS available since buyer backed out. I laughed when the salesperson told me $49k over the phone. In the end, I would rather wait than reward greedy dealers. It would be a riot if JN fleet manager or Cutter calls me back to see if I'm still interested. That's if they kept my card... LOL

Good to hear about "turn and earn" change.
