so you think the vert antenna on trunk yields worse reception than the coupes on the roof? doenst seem like the height difference is that much.

I recently read that the Sirius and XM satellites are not the same and that Sirius is better. I believe that because my 09 Charger has Sirius and never dropped out except under a bridge no matter where I went. The Camaro uses XM and it drops out all over the place.

Have it on both my tahoes and had on my coupe and now on my vert, tahoes and vert reception is 10x better than my coupe ever thought to be, so for me, the height didn't have any impact. And the Tahoes and vert reception is the same. On a side note, the FM reception is worlds better than my old coupe.

I have it on my Nissan pickup and get great reception. I just got my Camaro and the reception is bad compared to the Nissan. I am still in the free time but won't continue when that runs out. I plan on just using my iphone and Pandora instead. It isn't my DD so should be just fine for me.

Yes they did, but I recall reading that the satellites are still separate.

Mine works fine, unless I'm jumping to light speed or time traveling.

It's the antenna's metallic paint

Last year, I did a side-by-side test with an XM receiver and a magnetic antenna on the trunk lid. ('12 Camaro Convertible)

The factory XM and painted trunk lid antenna lost the signal probably twice as often as the portable receiver and magnet antenna on the trunk.

As I suspected all along, I think the issue is the metallic paint on the factory shark antenna reducing the signal sensitivity.

My replacement car has Sirius and a non-metallic painted antenna on the trunk. No loss except between tall buildings in cities. ( No leaks, either )

I will try resetting the antenna signal, as I have already tried resetting the XM signal several times with no change.

This is a serious problem, as there can be absolutely nothing above me but I drive next to a tractor trailer or a wall and lose signal. It has definitely gotten much worse in the last few months for some reason...

I had Sirius in my F150 and Explorer and XM in my Camaro. If the satellites are the same the. It would be the equipment problem in the Camaro as the Camaro had sport service. Go under and 4 lane overpass bridge and it dropped on the Camaro but not on the Fords.

I quit all the pay to listen satellite radio anyway and now use Pandora. I listen to a few commercials but Pandora still lets me choose the music I want to listen to and learns what I like. I also use the TuneIn app to listen to just about any type of radio or sporting events I want to listen to.
