I would venture to guess that he took that picture to show, up close, the exact area that the production headlights are going to take up. It shows very clearly that those pre-pro headlights are combined in a housing specially designed to fill up the space where the production lights will go. Maybe that's why he took that picture All I know, just like Dragon said previously in other threads, this type of mock headlight setup has been seen in cars from the CTS to the Malibu...and the upcoming BMW 7-series...just to name a few that I've seen recently. None of them make production. The only time I've ever seen that kind of a headlight setup on a production vehicle is on a Honda Civic...with an aftermarket headlight housing setup...

Cool.

Anyone notice that the side-view mirrors are black? Was that the same on the other white pics we saw earlier?

EDIT:

And that big black hole in the second pic is where the gas cap is in the black shots
Also notice that the hood looks ROUGH in comparison to the rest of the car, as far as color-match. Methinks this might be what fbodfather was alluding to earlier, regarding poor die quality on some of the first examples that were supplied. It's all coming together.

This, and Ed's comments regarding driving it on the track is really driving the whole thing home for me!!!

Now -- if I can just get ONE local dealer to agree to NOT gouge me for me factory order.......

I hope I am one of the first to post pics of my new 'Maro on this site. (yah, good luck with that, Jimbo! )

I am STOKED!!!

Hey, looks like there is a new spot of the fuel door. Better? Oh and why did the dude have to get right infront of the rear fender. I wanted to see how low it went and if it was consistant with the concept design. I couldn't tell with the black one.

Memo to anyone taking a spy picture again: Leave out close ups of headlights. I'm sure if Chevy will get they idea. We don't like the headlights. I think Chevy did that so we had something to ague about to pass the time away, so it doesn't seem that they are taking to long in producing the final product. The want us blue in the face.

Am I right?

I think it'd helpful he was in that picture - helps gauge the size of the car. It's not too huge after all... even more reason to love it.

More and more uncovered cars roaming the streets - GM is doing a decent job keeping interested for almost 3 years

LOOK AT THE GAS CAP ON THIS ONE!!!! It looks like it's a titanium finish like the concept. Hopefully we'll see a closeup of this on a later pic so it can be confirmed as a possible option. I'll be happy with that!
