Had mine brought in from another dealership 86 miles away..drive off with 86 miles to start. So pretty much 0 miles had I bought it from the original dealer.

Regardless of the legal definition, I was glad that my car had about 2 miles on it when I took delivery.

Sorry but you're wrong. Warranty starts at the mileage of the first bill of sale/registration. For example my car had 14 miles on it and it states that the b2b warranty expires 3 years of 36,014 miles. .

A car is considered new, no matter how many miles or the age, until its registered.

This is a silly question, obviously if you're willing to buy a car w/ miles, whatever miles the car may have isn't really an issue. If 100 miles is a real problem then you probably would not buy the car anyway, right? Complaining about miles on the car is simply a ploy to get a deeper discount than you're already getting.

Now it isn't lost on me that car enthusiasts are a different breed than your typical car buyer. I'm sure some of you would not buy the car if it has more miles than you would like, and that's fine. I respect people more for walking away from a deal if the car isn't as they would like more than those who act like miles are an issue in order to get another five hundred chopped off the top.

So, what is fair, as it relates to discounts, when a customer complains about miles? The answer with the most agreement here seems to be 50 miles is ok, more than that and the car should be discounted.

So in the guise of fairness, let's use lease penalties. Those penalties are asessed on whenever the mileage is higher than agreed upon lease termination. If said car has 50 more miles than you would like, using the normal .20 per mile penalty, that would garner you a whopping ten bucks.

Hardly worth it if you ask me. Of course the real issue is most people would ask for $500 off which would be the equivalent of 2500 miles.

Bought mine used it had 110 miles (180 km) on it. GM had licenced it so had to be sold as a used car. Saved me a pile of dough & to me it was brand new in every regard.

For brand new I would say less than 100. If they have to transport it IMO should only be done by truck and delivered on site.

I remember when I went to get my first camaro, they had a camaro on the lot that had 3300 miles on it and were STILL selling it as "new". They said it was the camaro that the owner drove around but still hasnt been titled. Funny thing was is that they didnt even wanna drop the price. Needless to say i didnt get it.

For something that I ordered, then no more than 7. For dealer stock I can be a little flexible, but if I am supposing that its new then my limit would be 50 miles. The law allows for more (it varies per state), but if the choice is up to me, then 50 miles or 7 miles for a special order are my mileage limits.

All great answers - thanks. As this will be my first Camaro - wanted some opinions - thanks. I'm getting ready to order if I can't find one...getting 2SS/RS. If the comptroller, CFO, "HouseHold 6" (a.k.a. - wife) approves it...I'm thinking 2SS/RS/1LE, we'll see.

I want the experience of seeing "my" ride come off the truck, knowing that it's got minimal miles on it and that Phil McCrakin and his brothers haven't taken turns grinding gears on joy rides!

Either way - thanks to all. Whatever I get...I expect to put CAI, Strut Tower Brace on almost immediately....anyone want to shout out their experiences with those mods?

Your ordered 1LE will have between 12-15 miles off the truck. The cars get driven to have the hood wrap put on. In some rare cases ordered cars come with more miles, but there will be a sticker to certify that those miles were part of a quality assurance test.

If the dealership just has one Camaro that everyone is test driving racking up miles, I would pass... mainly because the break in is very important and a few hundred miles by noobs ruins the chance of it being done right.

Same. Started off with 180 due to a dealership transfer. Didn't care for the thought of some random person farting in my seats for 180miles. At that distance you know the guy did at least once. Probably laughing at me when he did. Bastard.

Mine was 32 miles on the Used Car lot. My salesman pulled the history on my Camaro. It showed my Camaro went to GM Test Track @ Walt Disney World. So When the ride closed down for renovations it went to a wholesale auction. It was picked up by my dealership and the rest is history!!
