Sorry to hear of your incident, Inferno. That really sucks. Makes me so grateful I can live in a tiny town and have a two-car garage to park my vehicles in. Been here 17 years without any incidences - me or my neighbors. Hope I didn't jinx things as I know, thieves can get anything at any time, anywhere.

I HATE a thief!

Seriously? If you can get one of my locking lugs off with a pair of vice grips ill give you my car. Your an idiot if you think vise grips will turn off a but torqued to 140ft lbs. especially when you don't have access to them.

the easiest way is just to hammer a socket over it and then take it off. that's how tire shops do it when someone drops a car and forgets to leave the key for the wheel lock.

I would also suggest in a good alarm system with a motion/tilt sensor.

That sucks .....same thing happened to a friend of mine but they caught the punk kid cause he put them on craigslists the next day and someone he knew seen them on there. They knew they were his because one of them had curb rash and he tuned it in to insurance so they had pics long story short. The kid had been selling all kind of stolen stuff on craigslist. He is in prison now last I heard on several different charges.

Sorry for the loss/heartbreak/ and misfortune. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get. 2 way car alarm with a remote that alerts you when the motion is detected. I have locking lugs on my tires as well for this reason. Just last night someone stole wheels off a Rav 4 by my house. Unbelievable. It's a Rav 4 with regular rims, you would think you could just purchase them for cheap, but no mess up someone else ride for your personal gain.

When I still lived at my fathers house, there was a string of people Gavin their wheels stolen off of like a 2002ish maxima. They would go into your driveway, pick up the car and put it on milk crates and steal the wheels. By the morning, the milk crates had buckled leaving the whole car sitting on the floor.

As messed up as this sounds, at least they left rocks. Not trying to say you didn't have it as bad, but at least you if you could have, you would have been able to put other wheels on.
How do you jack up a car sitting on its belly?

Hopefully one of those tires gives out and they crash into a tree

Any recommendations on a good alarm system? I don't even have my car yet but I have already ordered the system lugnut package from Apex. $55 is not a lot when you consider the alternative.

Look into viper, or any of the directed companies. They also have an app like the OnStar app that will allow you to remote start from your phone.

I use gorilla. Make sure you hide the lug key. If it is just in the glovebox they can break in and take it. If they hit the same parking lot twice they might do it again...everybody should own a shotgun
