well thats what im sayin. the 2013 isnt designed to have that vent on it so its probably gonna take some work to get it to attach correctly.

Oh ok so maybe I should go for another hood vent? I'm waiting on the body guy to email me back with what he thinks. What are some other options besides the first one you said the TL1 I believe any other options to look at?

Why not go witht the TL1 hood from ACS? I'd rather have a bigger insert. IMO, I'm not too fond with the tiny scoop on the 14 SS's.

it doesnt have to be big...as long as its functional. the idea is to relieve the underhood pressure that would build up and extract heat. as long as it does those things then its good. now if you dont like the way it looks because its small than that's a whole other thing and you should go with what you like. but the ones on the 2014 are very functional.

granted thats a Z/28 but its still showing the functionality of the hood.

There's bevel and lip around the vent opening on the 2014 SS hood, this allows the vent to sit flush with the surface of the hood and "flow" into the body lines. The 2013 hoods do not have that, so even if you were able to make the vent fit the hood it would likely protrude above the hood surface and look out of place.

Your best bet would be to buy an entire 2014 hood with the vent.....or you could get a set of HEX Vents for 1/4 the cost ;-)

Do the hex vents splash trays keep rain water off of your motor and coils? Where does it drain to?

Yes they do and we're working on an improved splash pan design for maximum air/heat flow and water protection. The current production splash pans work great for water deflection, but are more restrictive in terms of airflow than I would like.

There's another thread I started in this forum gathering feedback on the new splash pan design. See it here: HEX Vent Splash Pan Redesign

The 2014 SS hood has a wider cowl by as much as 8" and it transfers to the bumper, the top of the bumper has the cowl lines all the way done till it turns in to the grill, so to do this hood you will need the bumper and the grills and the headlights.

the V6 hood is the same as the ones we have from 2010-2013 cars so the bumper will fit on our old cars, now is some one was to make a filler for the old light on the new bumper.

Got this done this week and I'm looking for an inexpensive hood liner, OEM.
