Too many have seen the movie and want to see them transform!

We bought 3 years of FULL replacement insurance. With no deductable.

Imagine if you lost 30 %, and they wrote it off and then youi have to pay MSRP + 5000 to replace it.

Everyone who owns one of these beauties needs to understand what the insurance companies will try when you make a claim.

Tell you that once the car leaves the lot the value drops X amount. FALSE

Some will offer to repay the entire purchase amount. This is good except the value should be determined by the fair market value of your vehicle. This is done by comparing the sale price of similar cars. Which as everyone knows, if you walk on to a lot right now you will pay the added dealer mark up sometimes as high as $15k (tire rotations included for life)

I have had considerable success with my insurance company by pushing back and demanding they pay the "Fair Market Value". The settlement for my car was actually higher than the amount I paid due to the dealer mark ups paid by others. This is not insurance fraud or dishonest. You all know you could sell your car for more than you paid, why would you settle for less than this if the money is coming from an insurance company?

I have included a letter from my insurance company informing me their car buyers program could not replace my car as it was too hard to find inventory. I did not ask for my wife to get creamed by an idiot, she does not enjoy the physical therapy, and I surely did not like the POS rental car while I located another vehicle. Please feel free to contact me via private message if you have the misfortune of needing any of the documentation or research I have done.
Hmmmm, I really should just bite my lower lip and move on the the next thread, but instead I will stick my nose into conversation. So yall that think is is a crime for a dealer to sell over MSRP and have been fortunate enough to find dealers like myself, Scotty and several others on this forum, think it is okay to demand a replacement value over MSRP? Or am I just reading this wrong?

That's the only way he will get something for the inconvenience. I waited 9 months for our car... I would not be happy to just have to get in line again.

the purpose of this post is to give guidance to the unfortunate individuals who lose their Camaro. We are currently in a very rare window where thos that are lucky/patient/smart enough to get these things at MSRP can demand more for them because of the people out there paying mark up. The insurance companies know this and are trying to low ball people with payments for totaled cars that is equal to what they paid. This sounds great to someone who has not been through the insurance thing before. My point is "Anyone who has purchased a Camaro for MSRP would NOT sell it for even money to a new driver, why would they agree to sell it to an insurance company for that ammount"

You and I agree my friend, the people paying way over MSRP are doing us a service by driving the value of the car up beyond what we pay. This will not be forever but it is for now.

Cheers
