I use the Mobil 1 extended performance and the 5qt jug is $26.99 at the walmart around where i live, the regular Mobil 1 synthetic is $24.99

Nobody can compete with Walmart/ sams....Walmart will match others...if...you find it cheaper....sux for the competition but its the best thing for the consumer ...your buying at near wholesale price....volume is where they make there's ....I printed 6... 10.00 off coupons and bought 6 five qt. jugs for 15.00 bucks each. Almost 4 oil changes for 90.00 plus the filter...and here they sell the ac delco too....might not be the best but its what GM uses....I change it out every 5000 miles anyhow....

I used to work at an auto parts store and we would be asked all the time to price match Walmart prices. We had to tell customers we couldn't because we offer that 0.25 quart jug. We were also instructed to tell customers that parts advice and our customer service is part of the justification for higher prices.

I'm glad I don't work there anymore. Too much focus on up-selling and not enough on just taking care of people's needs.

It was actually on auto zones website...they still do if from time to time....I was gonna buy it from autozone until I saw there off the shelf price was 35.00. Last time I saw the rebate I shared.....some said there Walmart wouldn't honor it...mine had no problem...it's really not fair to autozone...but I learned along time ago.....the fair comes to town once a year....with rides and cotton candy

Ahh, but I'm not paying $20 for the filter. With the coupon, I get the filter and 6qts of oil for $39+tax. Without the coupon, the same would cost $67+tax. So I'm saving $28. That makes my $20 filter $24 cheaper than some off brand $4 filter. It almost like they're paying me!... almost

I do want to add to my original post- I'm against Wal-Mart and walking into their store to look at their Mobile 1 ( because I heard on here it was cheap) made me get shivers. Holy crap do weird people shop at Wally World! If you're from the Michigan area you would know the store Meijers- they have the Mobile 1 for $24.99 in 5.1qts.

As someone who used to work for them as a manager for over 10 years I can tell you it's the same Mobil 1 you can buy anywhere else. They just price it cheap because 1. they buy it by the truck load and 2. a lot of times they sell items at a loss. They are called "loss leaders". The idea is while you are they saving on that item you usually spend a crap ton on other items.
