Thanks not. Yea I picked up a few ideas from this forum to try out on the vehicle once the top is replaced and before we take it home from the dealer. I've seen other forum members run a hose on the top to ensure the drainage system is working properly on the new top and other stuff like checking for pieces of metal from pop rivets inside and outside of the vehicle. Stuff like that.
You're welcome,

When you get a chance, check your inbox for a response PM. I look forward to hearing from you.

You shouldn't be afraid to bring your top in to the dealer. I have an early build 2011 and I have had my top serviced and the results were really good. The dealers are instructed by the GM techs if they are not comfortable with the service. Waiting is not going to make it better.
Yes, I was one of the first experiments but it did work out and I have not had a problem since.

Thanks for the replies guys. My father is taking it in tomorrow morning. I'll update when I have more information.

Also, wasn't there a GM Part# for the parts needed for the "fix". I read it on here before but can not find it now. I thought there was a service bulletin posted on these early build tops and there was a part# assigned to it last spring so the dealer would know what to order to correct this. Any ideas

If mine looked like that there's one place I'd go - the Chevy dealer. Beautiful car, good luck!

Yea between this and the paint chips my Father is not too thrilled about the purchase. Disappointed really. $40k+ and in less than two years the top and paint makes it look like a used and abused car. My mother drives it back and forth to work Lol, she doesn't track the damn thing. Dealer already shot down the paint issues last year because there is no real way to pin point if it's driver habits or faulty paint from the factory, but telling from the posts on here there are hundreds of people who feel the same way about their thin paint resulting in tons of paint chips. Horrible.

Should have an update tomorrow on the top BTW.

Paint quality is my biggest complaint ...it's just awful !!! If I knew it was going to be this bad I would have had it clear-bra right from the get.

PLENTY of dealers won't call the GM techs...they'll just TRY to fix it & give it back to you, regardless if it's right or not!

Well I do not have a lot of details but the dealer is replacing the top. As to where or who is doing it I do not know. My father dropped it off for them to look at this morning and when he went back later in the day to pick it up the service writer was gone. All he was told was that they would order a new top and call him back to schedule the appointment.

Any pointers going in to this? Any specific questions we should ask? Do they offer warranties on the new tops to extend past the bumper to bumper warranty?

Also, in addition to the new canvas top, shouldn't they replace some hardware as well? Otherwise won't these marks just show up in time again? Thanks again

Like others have posted, go over it really close afterwards. Do a water leak tests, check the overall fitment, cable tensioners, etc.

The top on my 2011 Vert looks very similar. Always handwashed, top is down more than up (I live in SoCal). I'd better get my butt in before the warranty is out.
