Here is a no drill alternative using the factory type plate holder.

I installed it on my using the toggle bolts and felt pads on the back of the bracket so that the plastic doesn't touch the paint. I installed it upside down with the toggle bolts are on the bottom of the bracket - it allows the plate to be lower. Looks ok and can be easily taken off.

My other car doesn't have plates in the front and I never get hassled.. It all really depends on where you are at honestly.

I plan on taking the front plates off mine.

If you're military and your home of record is from a state with no front plate can you just register it there and be good? That's kind of what I want to do.

I would just rather drive by the LEO without having to look over my shoulder all the time. I don't want the added stress. I have found that in this area the state patrol have a zero tolerance for any infraction. Other than the impact on looks of the vehicle, there no affect on value. Heck, every other vehicle in the state wears them.

That's what I do. My Camaro is registered in New Mexico. Depending on the state though, you may need to jump through some hoops to get it done.
