Not sure what converters your talking about, but all of the major brands lock-ups are great on the highway when locked up and the RX/FTI will act near stock when driven easy (wives usually dont even notice unless they stomp on it). Have yet to have a failure with these to date either. A good trans tune is highly reccomended though.

I've got a TCI.. (ya, ya, I know, I know FTI is better) I actually have an FTI SRL that I've been trying to sell for the past month.
