I really dislike the US Top Gear. Every segement is a bad copy of the UK version. They do nothing original. I'm waiting for new episodes from the UK.

I really want to see what time is can put up on their test track when the Stig takes it for a spin.

Also, Jeremy Clarkson punched Piers Morgan in the face he can like whatever he wants. Man should be Knighted for it.
Tanner drove the piss out of a C7 a couple episodes ago. They were testing if the the times got better with the traction control system on or off. It was pretty cool.

Top gear is for entertainment. Not for scientific comparison.

The early episodes the chemistry was off but the show has gotten better. Still not as good as the UK original though.

US top gear has gotten better imo. But the race between the zl1 and tesla was BS. Edited trickery imo. Not a clean shot of either car during the entire race. Staged is all I got out of that.

honeslty if that tesla runs a ~12.3 like they state it can there is no reason to think it would not be a close race. there are plenty of people that take there cars to the drags and run slower than that.

I have seen people take new gt500's to the track and run 12.3's. heavy cars with tons of power are hard to launch.

I've seen as high as 16's for both ZL1's and GT500's, bad drivers get bad times. Electrics are nothing to sneeze at, but I wonder how much one of those launches takes out of the range.

Agree with those of you saying the UK version is good. Some of the episodes are pure gold.
Also agree that the US version is a cheap imitation. I don't mind Tanner and Adam, but the other guy I could do without.

I also couldn't care less what they did or didn't do with the ZL1 on the episode.

How many runs could those electric cars run? Two tops? UK Top Gear had the Tesla, broke down minutes into filming. They had a back also, which also broke down. They have improved since, but just a few months ago when one went up in flames at an intersection their stock took an immediate nose dive. They are fast but I'd like to see how many times they can do hard laps, the ZL1 can go for hours and hours all out.

Tesla Model S Sedan 0 to 60 mph and Quarter Mile Times
2012 Tesla Model S Base (225 kW) 0-60 mph 5.9 Quarter Mile 14.2
2013 Tesla Model S Base (270 kW) 0-60 mph 5.4 Quarter Mile 13.7
2013 Tesla Model S Performance (310 kW) 0-60 mph 3.9 Quarter Mile 12.4

I was very excited when the ZL1 rolled out onto the track...it is identical to mine. And it sounded great.
And come on, the electrics they raced were track cars. You arent driving those on the street, and I bet you could buy 2 ZL1s for the investment in any one of those 3 cars. They said the rail car had the power equivalent to 1000 horsepower!
Last week's show was hilarious...when they built the amphibious cars to cross one of the Great Lakes into Canada. Two of em sunk within minutes of going into the water.
The US version has really grown on me. I actually like it better than the UK version now. Check it out if you havent watched in a while.
