I had a Street Slayer come apart at the track on my third run at Camaro Fest. Cost me a trophy.

We used to manufacture flywheels for Monster and I have worked with Steve at Monster on many projects designing various parts.
I know Steve goes the extra mile and has put in lots of hard work to get Monster clutch where they are today, Steve knows what he's talking about when it comes to clutches.
I sell and have sold hundreds of Monster clutches with very few problems. It's a well designed product with a great company backing them up.

Thanks for the kind words Chris, I appreciate it!

And you make the best drivetrain parts around, period. If I ever need anything you're my go-to guy.

Apparently there is some concern as to whether this clutch is the same as the LS9 unit that some of you have had issues with. The answer to that in short is - absolutely not.

This unit is a by far better product and does not, in any way, share the same components as the LS9 unit. The LS9 unit has multiple design flaws that make it a weak and terrible design. The unit as a whole lacks overall structural rigidity and therefor will come a part under abuse, this applies to both the Gen 5 Camaro and any other lighter vehicle using it. We received a LS9 unit before the ZR1 was released and tested the setup prior to the car coming to market, we informed them then that the unit was a terrible design which is precisely why we never got behind them. Same reason we don't get behind the factory LS7 single that comes in every 5th Gen SS - they're terrible.

The unit we have above is actually an improved version of what comes factory in a ZL1 5th Gen Camaro. The improvements made by GM include a higher plate load and componentry that eliminates high rpm release issues. We further improved upon the design by eliminating the dual mass flywheel and, on two of the three options, have altered the frictions allowing it to increase the holding capacity exponentially while still maintaining factory drivability.

Monster Clutch Co. is a clutch shop, we don't do this as a hobby, this is a business ran out of a 15,000 square foot shop with 15 employees here where I'm sitting. I also employ people out of state that build/design components for our clutches. I don't take lightly to accusations or mis-information. That said, I'm also one of the most knowledgabe people on this forum when it comes to clutches and have no problems answering just about any question you throw out there, even if you don't buy anything from me.

If ever any of you have any questions about anything that we post or offer my phone and email are always open and available, and if you're local my doors are open.

Thank you to all who are supporting us, these units are quite the setup for the new Camaros!

It's funny you should post this.. I have a clutch on order from you right now that is replacing an LS9 clutch that lasted 5,000 miles before it failed.

Thanks

LOL, doesn't surprise me at all. They're really just not a good design, anyone in the industry with basic clutch knowledge would tell you that. I laughed at some of the ratings guys were giving those things!

Thanks for the support Chris!

Can you PM me a price on the LT1-S.

If you don't mind, I would like to get a price on just the parts as well as parts + install with remote clutch bleeder in case I decide not to tackle the install.

Just got a set of DR's the other day. My stock clutch might be on limited time once the season starts back up.

Also, the lighter flywheel....I guess the advantage there is to make the car faster because there is less rotating weight???

I'll pm you pricing, we'll go from there!
