Unlike the Camaro coupe, which has side curtain airbags, the convertible only has frontal airbags for the driver and front passenger. Nor are there side-impact airbags mounted in the front seats. So no my car has no airbags in the seat. Repeat no airbags in the seat. |

I feel your pain OP...
I'm just shy of 6' tall and about 170 lbs soaking wet. I commute in the car and I definitely feel like the lumbar area is lacking. Other than that I love the seats. I haven't checked to see if mine is broken like yours or not, but it could definitely use some support. Any of you guys who installed the aftermarket lumber - Do you think you could post up some pics and more detailed info please? I'm very interested in this

I've got 32k miles on my 1SS, am 6' and 175#. No seat problems. Took the Camaro on a 4,000 mile cross country trip this summer with no seat comfort issues. I'd try a different dealer. Doesn't mean yours is bad, perhaps just not skilled in seat repair

I believe you are incorrect.. according to the owners manual on a 2011 and a 2012 CONVERTIBLE: 3-24 Seats and Restraints Airbag System The vehicle has the following airbags: . A frontal airbag for the driver. . A frontal airbag for the right front passenger. . A seat-mounted side impact airbag for the driver. . A seat-mounted side impact airbag for the right front passenger. The vehicle may also have the following airbags: . A roof-rail airbag for the driver and the passenger seated directly behind the driver. . A roof-rail airbag for the right front passenger and the passenger seated directly behind the right front passenger every Camaro I have ever seen has this on the seat: ![]() and I just verified with my brother-in-law, his 2011 2LT/RS has that same AIRBAG tag on his seat. you might want to go double check your vehicle, but according to GM ALL Camaros have seat airbags and SOME have side curtain airbags (coupes)

The lumbar problem is well known. A lot of people have had it. My 1lt has broken twice and been fixed twice under warranty. Mine also had the hooks reversed on the repair and so far it's held up...but I'm not too optimistic about the future. These things are built to a price point and it appears to be quite low.
The first time I looked at the lumbar and upper back support in our cars, I was horrified at the extreme lack of quality. |

According to this review the 2011 Camaro convertible does not have side seat airbags. My seats don't have that tag on them. I could be wrong. Anyway it is not in the way of adding lumbar support. http://www.cars.com/chevrolet/camaro...expert-reviews |

I would believe the owners manual over a third party review myself. I know the lumbar isn't in the way of the airbag per-say, the concern I would have it what would occur if that airbag was to deploy. it is very possible that it could cause lower back injury if the airbag pushed the added in lumbar unit forward into the driver at the 200+ mph speeds that airbags deploy at. I'm sure there is an engineering reason why there is no lumbar support pump or mechanical adjustment in the seat, and therein lies my personal concern, which is why I have not installed my cooled seat equipment, at the time I purchased it I did not realize myself there were airbags in the seat.
