To be honest, skip shift hasn't really annoyed me at all. It's not like a brick wall but more of a slant that sorta guides you into fourth. If you just go with the flow you'll just go into 4th. If you're shifting early enough to trigger it you're not trying to go very fast anyways it is the "right" thing to do to save gas.

I agree, I had an 01 SS, and 90% of the time it never did it. When it did,I'd have it up in 3rd before letting up on clutch.

I shift from 1st to 3rd in most cases, it is much smoother and you don't have the issue with the skip shift as it allows 3rd, not 2nd. But if you go towards 2nd, and then go at it a second time it goes right into gear. I don't even think the 20.00 is necessary as I don't even think about it most of the time. Besides I normally rpm up higher past it since I do go to 3rd normally. I heard that is better on the gas mileage anyway. I go 1st, 3rd, 5th in most cases, unless the speed limit is 35 or less... My .02...
