I want to do the same mods to my L99. Good luck. Trans is the only thing I have not done before. The heads/cam are no problems.

Good luck.

Thanks, yeah the trans isnt all that much work, but It is holding me up cause of the big ass torx bit I need to take the driveshaft off.

Today I got the intake, heads, valley cover, ps pump, and cam out. Started getting all the little things off needed to drop the trans.

Punched all the old bearings out of the rockers and pressed the comp cams trunnion upgrade kit in.

Ill be swapping the springs tonight after I go out and get the socket I need to install the hex head rocker bolts and the socket I need to take the driveshaft off.

Hopefully I can get the converter changed early tomorrow, and then start putting everything back on. Then I can have it all done saturday night at the latest.

All right now! Your power level is going to get transformed . Good luck with the install! Can't wait to hear your feed back on the new found power.

Nice Chris!!

Be careful pulling the cam back in. Lube that cam up like you do your own stick lol and slide it in gently cause those bearings are soft. You can use 2 water pump bolts to help you in the process.
Good job covering up the lifter bores

I will be so careful! Trunnions and the springs were a breeze after the first couple.

Trans is down! Putting the new converter in now.

Doing good cuz!

Double check it all before you go to the next step. Use blue loctite on the cam bolts, cam retainer, I used a lil bit on the oil pump bolts too.

I keep replaying it in my head whenever I use the assembly lube on a part "Like your own stick" haha

UPDATE

The trans ate up a bunch of my time today, and I was on the phone with SHawn/messing with the tuner for a little while. But I got the converter installed, cam, timing chain, lifters, heads (on but not torqued down yet).

Not a whole lot left to do, just hope I have a tune by the time I need my car for work monday moring.

For anyone interested, to do the converter, you have to:

remove bellhousing bolts, trans fluid lines, driveshaft, disconnect shift linkage, remove starter, converter bolts, passenger header. Not too bad, was tough to do bymyself lowering, raising, and leveling the whole transmission.

Driveshaft was kind of a bastard to get to, used an air ratchet.
