My dealer and the Service Manager in particular don't have that reputation.

I might STAY around with the car, but you can't complain too loud, and then be upset with the ONLY real way to get it fixed also? right?

What other alternative would you like to see? What would be acceptable to you? Give you a new car? Seriously, propose an alternative that would make sense to GM. An alternative to seeing a dealer. That's why they are there.

Interesting the OP never came back with an update since the original post 2 months ago.

For those of you that want to bash GM, I ask you to consider how many different phones are on the market and I don't mean now I mean over the last several years that might be expected to work with a modern car.

GM does it's very best to account for the hundreds if not thousands of phones and devices on the market, but it is very difficult to consider every phone, all the software and operating systems. Tough to do.

Now for the system not working or properly controlling the HVAC, that's another story.

William R, problem with the Mylink is GM does not have a clue or fix for Mylink problems of dusconnect, not displaying song titles on the HUD, etc. So all the dealer can do is call tech support but dont have an answer for it. Do yourself a favor google mylink problems and you will see all the complaints and pass it on to the higher ups. Telling us to go to the dealer is a waste of ours and the dealers time till GM comes up with answers,

I've been lucky. I've had zero issues with my car. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. My car is modded so powertrain wise I'm SOL and I'm OK with that, if it breaks I buy the parts and take it to a performance shop that knows how to treat a higher end car. As for other problems the car wouldn't leave my sight at ANY dealer. They can look at it, order parts and I'd return to have the issue dealt with. Funny you never here of a sonic wreaked when out for a joyride. Good luck

Had same problem, but I was using a generic phone cable. Switched to the one that came with the phone and never had a problem again. Had this happen with a Motorola and I-phone.

I haven't had many problems with MyLink, but the most annoying thing I experience is with the usb thumb drive not being recognized when I start the car. I have to unplug the usb and plug it back in before it is recognized.

Not sure if it's related but as soon as I ditched my Android and got an iPhone all my issues went away. From the few guys I've talked too on this subject I've heard that there are some compatibility issues with some software.

yeah I have an iphone and just use bluetooth and mine is flawless. I have never really tried to use the cord as that is just another thing to hook up. I don't use a thumb drive as I always have my phone on me.

makes me wonder if I have these same issues???? I sugest people just used the bluetooth from the phone as I ahve never had any issues at all.

I also have an iPhone. I tried the cord but as a charging function more so than music playback. The cord is as you stated "another thing to hook up"! I now use Bluetooth only. I would consider using a thumb drive for long trips.

I run a Blackberry Z30 and use Bluetoth Audio all the time with very few issues.
Sometimes pandora can play hard to get, but once it connects it stays connected.

I tried the cable connection a couple of times in the early days, but gave up and went Bluetooth.

Cheers
