Technically, I believe that's the date the subframe was built, but nevertheless, it should be within a day or two of the overall build date of the car.

Very early but unless you give the last 6 of your vin that doesn't mean a thing.
The first 5th gen Camaros had sequential vin numbers... (Again, last 6).

^ this. The first one off the line would be 100001, the first 1 being production run #1. My SS was 125261 and was born 7/22/09. The '10s had 2 production runs.

It's interesting how they ran along by vin and date. Mine was built about
a week after yours.... My SS, #132351 was built for me on 8/4/09.

I checked the tag on the subframe and it's pretty well worn. I couldn't read anything that resembles a date or time on it.

Mine was build 4/17/2009, vin # 03978. It has the chicklets and the performance badgeing.

It is a very early car. Last 6 of his vin are 000167. It was put into service at 0 miles on March 4, 2009. It wasn't even sold to a dealership, direct to GM.

That is a pre-production car. Likely part of cap test fleet. I think GM sold most of them at auction.
