I don't see why they couldn't have the belt buckle, but wrap it in a kind of plastic sheath, so that the underside is totally covered in plastic, and it has plastic edges.

I learned a long time ago that keeping a pair of clean socks in your car during the summer time is the easiest way to keep your hands from getting burned by buckles and shifters

Those old buckles were pretty cool...and damn do I remember those GM burn marks Im with tag they'd have to be something that wont scar a child for life

when I was a kid, my old man had a green Nova (real Nova) I was in the back seat and if that hot leather wasnt bad enough that seat belt burned the living shit out of me...I distinctly remember flailing and trying to get unbuckled!

Personally i think they stick out like a sore thumb, but i'm not going to complain until they come out with the final product. Some things may change that make it look better.
