Yes, with the destination charge.

Looks like they assumed

Actually, it depends on the model. Some models (Impala, Cobalt, Camaro) go with the LS/LT/SS trims while others (Malibu, Equinox, Traverse) go with the LS/LT/LTZ trims. I guess the more "practical" cars get the LTZ while the "sportier" cars get the SS. However, calling the middle/lower tier an RS would be stupid. Not only does it defy the current trim level conventions but it also goes against the Camaro's history, where RS is simply an appearance package option that can be added to multiple trims.

I'd also like to say that Car and Driver is a far better publication. Motor Trend ain't worth the paper it's printed on.

Crying fans

Did you read the article in the news/opinion page 22 titled Fallout
The Ford and Dodge fans complain about the test not being equal between the three cars tested where the Camaro came out on top. They say ford should have been a Cobra, Dodge should have been an SRT but what they didn't say was these were all standard V8 models of which the Camaro was the lowest priced. Maybe they should have tested the V6 models, the mustang with it's obsolete Ranger truck engine would have been last with the Dodge second, and the 304 HP Camaro first.
Hope the Z28 comes to life, that would be a no contest comparison.

No, no, no, aaaaand no.

LS, LT, LTZ, and SS have been used as trim levels for years. RS is an appearance package and shouldn't have anything to do with trim level. Having a wide range of trim levels keeps this car affordable and competitive.

Ohhh boo hoo, sorry that GM didn't waste time engineering a midlevel V8 to compete with the Mustang GT and Challenger R/T.

Did you see Mototrends response? They basically said it was because they took price into account and it was clear the SS was targeting the GT/RT.

A stand up response to all the whining Mustang apologists.

Same story with motorcycles it's Harley versus anything else
It never ends if anyone thinks a 65 hp Harley is worth 15k
more power to them I'll stick with my 06 Suzuki M 109
dynoed at 103 stone stock, well K and N air filters AND Gipro TRE
COST NEW 12,000

Harley's demand that price based on name alone (warranted or not).

Yup. I really loved the one that was in response to the guy saying it should only be based on displacement:

Next month: Our Chrysler Town & Country 4.0L takes on the BMW M3 4.0L. Stay tuned.
I'll definitely admit, Motor Trend has been very fair towards GM, especially regarding the Camaro and CTS. A lot of their editorials are very passionate dreams for a newer, leaner, meaner Detroit. I'm just annoyed that an issue we've dealt with for so long here (along with "Are those the real headlights" and "I got the 6 speed") is cropping up in a magazine that should know better.
