I think your thread title is misleading. Those are not "falling apart", they are wearing from use. It sucks that it is so soon, but as others have said, recline your seat when you exit and enter.

Yeah, my leather couch is starting to look like that some....after 9.5 years!!

GM leather has pretty much always been crap as far as durability. Their flimsy answer is they don't want you wearing jeans, but not everyone driving a Camaro wears slacks to work and back. Design the seat for the worst condition possible and it won't matter what you wear. Same place must've designed the paint.

That part of the seats aren't leather, it's vinyl. Your gonna have to move the seat all the way back and not slide into them or out. It's gonna be on you to make changes, getting in and out of the car.

FYI , any skin of any animal can be called leather. in the past Chevrolet used water buffalo that was painted the color you picked. If you want the real deal top quality leather ( top grain first cut ) check out Katskins , They look , feel , and preform as real quality leather should . They sell kits you can install or they can install it .

Unfortunately at my height its as far down and back as possible. Vinyl? Awesome that's why it looks like chunks are coming off.

Wow, that's disappointing to see. For as much as these seats cost they shouldn't wear that easily. I had a similar issue with flaking leather/vinyl right in the seat pan of my seat. I went to the local dealership and they ordered me covers without question; and my car has over 25,000 miles.

Good luck getting those replaced, I don't think you'll have any issue with a reputable dealership.

Very common on all c5 and c6 corvettes too. If the owner doesnt' get in/out properly and rubs the bolster in a year or so they will have holes through the bolster. That is on a 100k+ car. Condition your seats and use care when getting in and out.

Thats genius! We wear cloth and sit on a suede seat for the grip it provides ... save yourself a couple grand and get the cloth seat and get suede driving pants!!! Lol

Lift your butt over the side bolster when you enter and exit the car and you won't have the wear like yours. It happens on all cars with large bolsters. Some people make it a point to be conscious of this when getting in and out. It's not rocket science.

Any car I've had with leather sets it's always worth it to buy the conditioner. Protects the leather and that great smell stays in the car.
