Let us know if you can hear the AFM kicking in.

It's this or SLP LM II for me. It's just hard to tell which one from camcorder recordings. Some drive-off video/sound and inside video/sound would really help.
I haven't driven the car much (15 miles home from the exhaust shop), and I didn't notice any AFM sounds. I also cruised for about 5 miles doing 70mph or so.
Inside the cabin the exhaust sound is pretty noticeable whenever you get on the gas (even slightly). To be honest, the car sounds like it should. It should sound a little aggressive inside the cabin.
But cruising at 70mph at 1800 rpms its real quiet. But as soon as you touch the gas pedal the exhaust really wakes up.

That's what I'm looking for. Loud enough to "sound like it should" but not so loud you get annoyed by the AFM kicking in. If your car sounds like it should, who needs the radio!

It sounded great.

Same here... the SLP is cheaper, and the vid sounds sooooo good...

This one sounds pretty nice too though, but I'm still feeling like the SLP has a "smoother" tone to it.

Although it's nice to hear positive feedback on the GMPP version...

Man, I just can't decide!!

I just wish I could hear a side-by-side comparison, in person

Luckily (or not) I won't get my car until probably October. So I still have a few months to listen and learn. The price of the LM II v. GMPP is definately an issue.

i just helped a guy put this off-road exhaust on an M6 with ground effects. We ended up cutting the tips off the factory and swapping them onto the gmpp off-road so it would fit with the gfx. Looks pretty killer and sounds awesome too. Although I gotta say, if it was my car it would have been a muffler delete system b/c it sounded great with no muffler at all.

yeah borla usually makes the aftermarket kits for both GMPP and Ford Racing if i'm not mistaken...they at least always look and sound like the borla kits

is this "off road" system street legal. Or I should say are they legal in states where emissions are required?

Everything appears to be street legal in that it's just mufflers and tips. There aren't any emissions components, so I'm thinking that "off road" vs "street" has more to do with the decibel level.

So I took a couple pics and added a sound clip. Sorry for the crappy quality of the video.

Sound clip added.

Sorry for the terrible quality of the video. It's from my camera and it doesn't work all that well.
The exhaust is fairly aggressive. Its actually louder than I thought it was going to be. I thought it would be very quiet, but its not. Its not loud, but its significantly louder than stock. It sounds really good. It's going to be pretty darn loud when I had long tubes. And take note that this sound is going through a tiny camera mic.

Very cool!

You know you could get out your polish and shine those mufflers right up like the Honda boys like em! Just kidding...the mufflers look and sound great! Always nice when the General does something right!

That's how I've had it explained. The "off-road" won't meet decibel level requirements in some states and municipalities...so just label "off-road" and let the customer decide what to do!

Nothing emission related here and the nice thing is that it is a GM part so they can't void your powertrain warranty!
