OP - I have the exact same set up as you and cant say I have noticed much rasp. Maybe it just doesnt bother me, so I havent noticed. I also dont have much to compare it to, my 1st 5th Gen and havent heard any other exhausts with headers in person but mine.

OP this is a video before I had the exhaust. So SW long tube headers and high flow cats. Much louder than one would think.

Sorry for the bad quality, this is the best video to hear the car.

I have always made it a point on my other rides to get rid of rasp for a clean exhaust. Thanks in advance.
Did you leave the OE H pipe in place?

Yes, it is still there. Just added headers and high flow cats.

Well, you've got me worried now. This is what I was planning for my 2SS convertible when it arrives, except using ARH headers. I thought I had a consensus that this approach would deliver the power with a modest increase in noise level and no "drone". Now, not so sure....

Dont be worried. It has great power, butt dyno confirms and i would say its a modest increase in sound. Much deeper idle and "throaty" gurgle. I have the NPP exhaust and there is almost no drone while cruising. If I pull the fuse, there is some drone but only low in the rpm band when cruising.

+1. Start-up is probably the loudest thing you will deal with on a daily basis. After it has warmed up it quites down to a deeper, slightly louder rumble. WOT is also MUCH louder, but who is going to worry about that..hehe.

The normality of the exhaust note is an abstract thing: the metallic sound of exhaust A versus the metallic yet more muffled and less potent flowing of exhaust B kind of deal here. I have a cam with my dual mode and headers and yes its a lot louder when getting on it, with my cam I now have a low rpm whistle when in gear and driving through the dual mode that kind of sounds nice when doing under twenty MPH, and when I get on it there is no doubt its roaring straight out and making some metallic sound with it yet its mostly roar. I do love being able to step on it then just let off it and be in stealth mode... it kind of serves notice and allows a person to then be quiet unlike a ricer boy fart box giant muffler exhaust.
