So your stock LS1 ran quicker than 12:40s bone stock?

Interesting Information regarding manufacturer’s top speed claims, might explain a few things.
392 Challenger - 182 mph (manual)
Camaro SS - 155 mph
Camaro ZL1 – 184 mph

The camaro is speed limited at 155, I had mine up to 170 with the m6 last year with my mods, and it was still pulling when I let off. Clutch smelled like total crap after that too. Lol

Newmoon, I know we shared some of the same issues. But we seemed to have problematic transmissions, I would not consider ether of are cars running proper at the time.
I'm glad to hear that Bad70, thanks!! I thought I had myself a solid build, but after the charger deal i was having doubts lol... I'm happy with the increase in power from the cam and heads swap, it's a completely different car for sure. Ted JRE sent me a real good tune and with the addition of the 3.70 JRE Posi rear it helped tighten the shifts up with the stall, get the car moving but 1st gear goes quick. I may be limited how much more i can upgrade, With 11.1 compression and or the 229/236 it's not a good match to slap on a supercharger, if i want more hp i guess i'd have to get a bigger cam or nitrous? Is this correct.

Sounds like a solid build man, that's possibly a low 11 high 10 car you have! With the right tune and driving that's a beast setup. Hoping to go low 11s this year myself... No stock 392 is touching that! If you want more I would first send your tune to Rhino79, he's the man! Bolton cars running 11s all day on his setups, then step into the nitrous. I took down a CTS V coupe (560hp) yesterday! Pretty sure my money is on the V over the 392, so that should tell you something also.

A heads/cam FBO L99 like yours should trap 117-120 and put down 450-480 whp.
I hate to ask and i should know how my car is modded but i don't. Is it set up for a good 1/4 drag or highway. is my power at 3200rpms and up or 5,000-7,0000. 1st gear goes quick with the 3.70. In 2nd gear I went up to 70 mph probably could have hit 80. It's hit and miss on the highway just depends on how deep it decideds to down shift when wanting to really get going. Any input would be helpfull.

Yes I swapped my m6 for a th400 and a 3600 stall. I still have 3.45 gears so its very under geared, I shift into 3rd right before the stripe! But the car drives good and pulls hard on the highway, so I am going to stick with it and just go 427 stroker down the road.

The Super Bee weighs 3960. Not having a sunroof or heated leather seats saves over 100lbs alone. I wouldnt be suprised if the OP's cars weight more than the Super Bee he encountered considering his mods.

What's your point, he has heads and cam! He has a easy 11 sec car, and his mods add no wieght, full exhaust is actaully taking wieght off. All these cars are heavy, what ever he raced was moded for sure!

My first point is that the charger is not the 4500 pound car many make it out to be. Im not trying to start a debate I used to have an L99 and LS3. I think the OP's car and a 392 are a very close race. A superbee hit 11's the other day with just changing tires, stock tune and no other mods. The OP's car is built for the 1/4 mile, and the top end on a 392 is crazy. Both are awesome cars. There are plenty of videos of 392 walking c6 vettes, 5.0's, and keeping even with an v10 bmw m5

If you think a stock 392 is keeping up with a well setup H/C camaro there is nothing more I need to even say.

The OP said enough. He said he assumes his car is making around 453-440 rwhp. An edmunds article did a dyno on the 392 and it had 452 whp. Although i think it is high, being both cars are around the same weight I think it is plausable that the 392 could hang with the OP's car. Not trying to start an arguement I love both cars.

http://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/t...no-tested.html

"It happens that we dynoed our long-term 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS on this very dyno last year. That's pretty much an ass-kicking, particularly in the midrange where the 392 wallops the Camaro's LS3 V8 by some 100 lb-ft.

I have said it before and I will say it again. You can't compare chassis dyno numbers from two completely different cars on two completely different dyno's on two completely different days. Way too many variables one of them being the drivetrain loss will be different.

I agree with your point, but I quoted where it said the exact same dyno. It would be an interesting match-up, but as others said the 6.4 never came in lime green, so the OP encountered and ollder charger with unknown mods.
