One other thing is that the dealer I'm talking to , don't have it in stock , and they are saying that they will go $3200 below MSRP plus whatever rebates will be available at the time of delivery
Please let me know what you think about this
Thanks

I have it but you can buy all the parts from gm cheaper than the options so IMO no not worth it. if you want it buy the parts fromt he parts counter pocket $200.

2. $790 for the GPS system ( some in here do say that's not very good )
specially when one can use the GOOGLE Maps on the phones

if you want nav add it now it is not something that adds easy later. to me it is is kind of coin flip I usually use my phone for nave as it is searchable and quicker endter the destination.

If not tracking the car not sure it would be worth it but for $2k option you could easily add the option and flip the seats to another member for more than 2k ha ha. there are people on hear that would proabably give you there seats and 3k.

I have sat in them and they are not bad IMO at all just not sure they are work 2k to me.

1. I think the suede package is suede overkill. I prefer the leather feel and could see the suede prematurely wearing out on the wheel and shifter. Leather on the wheel and shifter will resist wear much better.

2. The GPS on my I-phone is just as good as any onboard GPS. I think GPS devices in cars will become no-charge items soon, due to I-phones and other smart phones.

3. I'm sure the Recaros are worth every penny, but I'm a big dude and don't like the feeling of being smushed in the seat. That said, the OEM seats are pretty nice, although I wish they were 100% leather.

Good luck.

Hi, congrats on your anticipated order, I love my ZL1! Hubby and I put the order together, something's I wanted and some he wanted. The suede pkg I wanted, he didn't care for it, so of course we compromised and he got the CF hood insert which I didn't care if we did or didn't, now I'm glad we got both. Oh, and he wears racing gloves while driving because gawd knows where those big mitts of his have been, and I want to keep it CLEAN. So far so good!

The GPS we didn't bother with, actually On-Star expires tomorrow so I've gotta decide whether or not to continue it. I like that they can locate the vehicle, some folks freak out that Big Brother is monitoring your every move, but I could care less about Big Brother. And it provides other safety/emergency features as well, although I must admit I rarely use it.

Now my FAVORITE; The Seats, wish they had been available when I placed my order. I like my seats, but I'm pretty small so I tend to slide around side to side. Not enough side bolster to hold me in place firmly. I've never tried them out, but they look to be much firmer/tighter. I'd go for the seat!

What color? Auto/manual? Good luck, I have No Regrets.

I have the NAV option, IMHO blows-away OnStar and it extremely nice........ the suede option I like because it breaks-up the total leather look, also seems to keep you planted in the seat nice. As for the Recaros, I am 50/50 on them as having never sat in them. (Someone mentioned they may be a bother in the shoulder area to some....). On the seats and such, I usually wipe it all off each longer weekend with a white cloth anyway to keep the oils away.

Suede Option - I have it and I like it. the seats hold you in place better than leather.

Navigation - I have it, and I use it all the time. not necessarily for turn by turn directions, but I like to have the map up while I'm driving and use it for alternate routes when there's heavy traffic (which is anytime you are driving in Houston).

Recaro - I don't have them, so I can't really comment on that.

I recommend the suede and nav myself.

IMO...I would skip the nav. Most after market navigation systems work better and easier to update. Just go to amazon and pick up a Garmin for about $150 and a pro-clip to attach it to the dash without drilling any holes. You can store it in your center arm rest when you are not using it.

Note:
Neither the Nav, nor the recaro's can be bought and added later.

I think the stock GPS units are junk, so I would go after market, or just use your phone.
I have no opinion either way on the suede, if you like it do it,
as for the Recarro seats, ORDER THEM, if you do not like them , put them up for sale on this site, I GUARANTEE you will start a bidding war and sell them in a single day.
You will probably get several hundred, maybe even a grand or more than you paid, as well as offers for a free install and swap

Doesn't the car come stock with the suede in the seats? The suede package only constitutes the suede wheel and shifter knob.

Another thing to consider in the Nav. It is integrated into the car so when the music is blasting it'll turn down the volume and talk if you want it to and also works with the HUD for directions. Now my favorite part, it has traffic built into it and turns the roads red, yellow green for flow and if you set it up properly it'll steer you around traffic congestion. That in itself is worth it to me.

Where I live it's illegal to have your phone in your hand while driving so all the smart phone use would net you a ticket here. And they are talking of upping the fines if you get caught. IMO it's only a matter of time till everywhere does the same so think twice on using your phone for navi.

Todd, does the traffic actually work for you? I have nav, and I actually thought that it doesn't have a traffic indication because all the roads are always red on mine. I don't think I've ever seen it in any other color, so I just thought it was red by default. Maybe mine is not setup correctly, but even when the highways are completely clear, my nav is lit up in red like it's in the middle of rush hour traffic.

2. Navigation option. I didn't see a big need for it, plus it was on constraint when I bought my '13. The vast majority of the time, I'm not going anywhere I'd need it. For those times I need a map, I either just look at it on the PC and print a map ahead of time, or I use my Ipad to see where I'm going and where I'm at.

3. Recaro seats. Try them before you decide. I had a chance to try them out at a local car show where GM had a car there with them. For me, they fit just a little too snug, but then again I'm not real skinny (5'8"/200), and I don't track the car. Everyone hears the word 'Recaro' and immediately they want them. try them first. Don't even THINK about installing them later. So far, they aren't available for purchase separately.

Thanks everyone for the comments on how the options are performing over time
One can't buy this info from anywhere , it's great to have all of this detailed info , be it pro or con
That's just what I was going for , thanks to all of you

On the seats , I really would like to have it in IO , just like the ones I have on my 2010 SS as an OPTION
But I do know that's not offered , this kind of taking me to consider just ordering it with the standard seats , and going to a good local guy and have it done in IO , just like on the SS
The car will be
BLACK
BLACK WHEELS
AUTO
ECF INSERT

MOST LIKELY
No. My link ---__ smartphones are everywhere
No. Sued ----- Probably will have it done like the IO. On my SS
No Recaro --- will try it first and see how it goes

Here is what they are saying they can do , let's see what happen
