Now, this thread wasn't started (by myself) to start a *!#* measuring and/or a "I can do it better" contest (see thread title for verification!).
I made this thread because I thought it might be helpful, to anyone that may need it.

Coming in a thread that could not be more clearly titled and making negative remarks really makes you look like a "disposable feminine cleansing product (one might use on a summer's eve) and the bag it came in" (I can quote other peoples words to). I personally don't know anyone that keeps "APC", steel wool, or metal polish in their garage, let alone all 3!

In short; be helpful within the confines of the thread's title and don't be a quoted phrase above.

Oh! Thanks for your "helpfulness" even though it has nothing to do with the thread title!

Nice work OP, tips are back to fighting form now!

Did you put anything on them to seal them up?

Thanks Nick, I'll check the Adam's forums and the post I have there.
But if you wish to inform those that remain please do so.

In short, I didn't seal them. I don't know what to use to do that. But just so you are aware, those suckers get real HOT!

I just started visiting this section about a month ago and can't believe all the controversy. Hell, I stopped participating on the tuning/FI threads because all the bs and vendor worshipping (plus my tune from one was crap). If this section goes down hill, I am off C5.

Tired of people swinging their opinions and hatefulness where it's not needed/wanted.

Bashing people personally is moronic, and against the rules! If you'll read again, if you like, I didn't call anyone any names. He posted three times in this thread and two times was rude, unhelpful, and off topic. I responded somewhat likewise the one time.
Just trying to moderate my own thread, if you will. If I could delete posts I wouldn't have said a word.

And I somewhat agree with you on the rest. I stick to only the areas/threads I'm most interested in for the same reasons.

Sorry, I was just trying to help you. I thought you called him a DB -- my mistake.

Quick Sealant works very well. Optically clear, aerosol sealant that leaves behind no residue.

It's detergent resistant and heat resistant up to 300* F, which makes it ideal for wheels and exhaust tips, among many other things.

It's a public forum, you don't get to elicit the responses you receive. It's like walking into a bar and expecting a civil conversation with random strangers.

So you think clay is the ONLY way to get your tips clean? You do know that APC stands for all purpose cleaner, don't you? LOTS of people keep that around the house for various things. You don't need to have a specific car brand. Steel wool is dirt cheap at any local Walmart, or the like. Metal polish is just to give it that extra shine, but is available at any auto parts store. How many people outside detailing forums keep detailing clay? Within detailing forums, LIKE THIS ONE, most have some or all of those. Seriously, what are you all bent out of shape about. He offered a alternative way to do it without using up your expensive adams clay. He never said you were wrong or you did something stupid. You admitted that you NEVER wash your car, just use detail spray on it. Have you EVER cleaned those tips? If not, YOU NEGLECTED THEM. My tips aren't anywhere near as bad as your and i've never used anything on them except soap and water. If we kept within the confines of every thread, NO ONE would learn anything new.

I am interpreting what the OP is saying is that some posters came into the thread with helpful information BUT presented it in a slightly pompous arrogant way. I read the thread and thought to myself when I got to that particular posting "hey, that was a bit attitude-ish".

I'm a firm believer in curtesy and respect and it did seem to lack that. Again could not be intended- some people lack tact and awareness.

Yeah, I'm relatively new to this section of the forum, but I've noticed plenty of it. Ultimately, it's the internet, no reason to get your panties in a bunch, even if you're right.
