Break-in is not just for the engine but the entire vehicle. Many components need heating and cooling cycles.

Royal Purple is a quality product and I don't think anyone said you get double power.

Every car has an alarm clock built in that goes off at 1501 miles, haha.

I am all for guality lubricants.and yes some are better than others.but don't u think if R P oil was that much better, evere NASCAR, NHRA , and any other racing team would be using it just to try to stay above the curve, and just be able to compete with teams that use R P.c'mon, gimmie a break

1200 Miles now

She has been a beast since I got her, if she gets a little more attitude after 1500 miles, that's fine with me! I haven't done an oil change yet either. I'll be slapping on Borla axle back exhaust this week, so I know she is gonna sound a little meaner now too! I still haven't gotten on her hard yet, and won't for a while, but she let's me know........ all systems are "go". She's hot, and she knows it

Royal Purple DOES produce power gains immediately. However, I cannot comment on the break-in thing, as my car already had 40K+ miles on it when I switched. The difference was immediate, and very noticeable.

I've posted this several times before -- but the power gain was enough that it messed up a gear in my rear end during a full power "torque dump" into the next gear at over 80 MPH on the highway after kicking it into passing gear. (Yes, I slowed down immediately afterwards to a legal speed).

The car nearly jumped sideways. It almost chirped the tires. It was intense, but FUN!

And, this was an automatic.

I didn't mind the damage but unfortunately I cant enjoy the power until I get the rear end rebuilt or replaced.

Sorry for the OT - but if anyone knows a good cheap place/way to replace or refurb a rear axle on a 2000 Camaro please PM me. Thanks.

Should be seeing some improvement as more and more cars get past break in and into cooler months ahead.
