Yeah, where its damp. You just want to clean the tires off. Some guys say that a little heat in the stock tires works better so you might want to try both the clean off method and a small burnout method. One thing for sure is that you want to stay out of the water box. Even with drag radials I stay out of the water box and do my burnout just in front of it where it's damp. Water can get inside the tire grooves putting water on the starting line killing your 60ft as well as the people behind you.
