ok these mrt v2's are overrated. heard them 100 times and my dynomax sounds better. louder and throatier. has bigger tips. Also the build quality is better imo. yeah I've never really heard of the cherry bomb things. also i don't have the vt's. i have the ultra flow without the valves, i don't want any restrictions. i would like to hear some more input on these cherry bombs

I've had the MRT v2's on my lfx for the past 9 months and have a resonated x-pipe (magnaflow) sitting in the garage. I was thinking I was going to have the stock resonators removed and the h-pipe replaced with the resonated x-pipe. After reading some of these posts I'm unsure again. I want to add the x-pipe to get rid of the drone at highway speeds, but I don't want to lose any volume or gain any rasp (rasps are for woodworking after all).

I was under the impression that removing the stock resonators and installing the resonated x-pipe in place of the h-pipe would be a fairly 1 to 1 swap, rasp and sound level wise. Again, I just want to remove the drone without losing volume or gaining rasp. Was I mislead, or is this the path I want to go down? Don't know if mufflers affect this at all (again I have the v2's).

Any input would be greatly appreciated guys!

The resonated x will kill all of your rasp and give you a deeper tone, but I can't say for volume. Probably quite similar.

So my original plan is the way to go then and I should nix the stock resonators when I do the xpipe?

it will be a waist of money personally, most add the res x-pipe and leave the stock resonators. it will be a one for one swap and zero performance will be gained.

The x pipe does kill the drone... everyone that has one will tell you that. Lol.

I'm looking to get rid of drone, not increase performance with this mod. Although, it will increase scavenging somewhat which could be considered a performance gain (even if you can't feel it).
