Another tip... don't let them give try to pass the "Market Value" as savings to you or push that the "Market Value" is what you should pay. MSRP on my vehicle was $32,610 and one of the deal sheets he brought said "Market Value: $34,560" and they tried to show that I was saving (or they were giving me) an additional $1,950 in savings... that $34,560 included the overpriced $6,500 21" rims that in the real world would only be about $4,000.

Basically, no matter what the Market Value is, you will never be able to buy the vehicle at MSRP or below, and then sell the vehicle at the listed Market Value and make some profit. I think the only vehicle you may have ever been able to do that with was with the PT Cruiser when the dealer markup was $6,000-$10,000 over MSRP because of the low production and demand at the time (stupid people were paying it too and being so upside down in the car it was crazy!).

Awesome tips guys. I'm actually planning to buy a 2014 2LT/RS this month and am really happy to see that they are still offering $2000 off. I've already got my financing pre-approved from my credit union (1.9% for 60 months), $1200 cash, and have $1100 in GM card earnings, which should go up to $1200 by the time my May 19th billing cycle comes up. I had a couple questions if anyone has some insight:

-Do you think it would be best to wait until Memorial Day weekend for the inevitable sales push?

-I'm going to try like crazy to get the private offer. Am I just as likely to get it now or towards the middle/end of the month?

-Any tips on trade in? I have a 2005 GMC Canyon that I would need to trade. KBB, Blackbook, etc. trade in values range from $7900-$9200. I'd rather no go through the time and hassle of a private sell but I definitely don't want to get low balled by a dealer.
